Failure is shame and dishonour. I have a bit of a Japanese concept of honour and shame, neh?

Anyways, I left, I just couldn't stand it any more. I'm on my way home and now those thoughts are a bit more away and vague. Although I pondered if jumping in front of the train would be a better way than jumping off a building, it was a brief thought only.

By the same token, success is pride and glory. Do you want to be celebrated?

I haven't a clue what I'm on about now. So don't ask.

Dude. JoanK. It's a temoporary setback at worst, keep that in mind. You should see all the classes I just failed, yet I do not despair.

It's all temporary my friend.

True story.

Also, JoanK, the more classes you have taken, the less you care. It matters not whether you fail or pass, once you have taken more than a year or two worth of classes, you really stop caring as much and feel less deflated by failures.

I've taken exams for decades, and I still like to pass them - though my success is modest. But failure I can take in my stride too. It's just an indication that either the subject is too hard or my efforts too little.

The Mexican army confiscated my 1980s vintage US army field jacket. That was a really warm jacket.:(

By the same token, success is pride and glory. Do you want to be celebrated?

That is false. Success is your duty. there is no glory in fulfilling ones duty. But there is shame in failing to do so.

I don't agree. Success can be a subtle deceiver.

I think it's far harder to handle success than handle failure.

Too much success might mean you've not really been stretched to your limits.

That's outrageous. Why'd they do that, then? Did you get a receipt?

Criminals intimidating soldiers was the excuse, and no they just took it. I think the government is working towards making camouflage or any clothing that's military-esque illegal like in Barbados.

I made the mistake of talking to people after the torts exam (3 large issue spotter questions), and I'm pretty sure I failed now because while I got all the strands of causation and I hit negligence and all its elements, vicarious liability, municipal/governmental liability, landowners duty, eggshell plaintiff and strict liability I apparently missed the intentional tort of battery somehow.

The case involved some drunk dude falling off a faulty balcony during a party because he was shocked by the police appearing at the door , and getting hit by a truck which crashed into a bus because the driver was sleepy causing a fire that burnt down the neighborhood.

I should have just written EVERYONE CAN SUE EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING in all caps and walked out of the exam room

Never go to law school kids. Never. I wish I was drunk right now but noooooo I have to go read for Crim law....I bet its going to be a rape question. Almost all his past exams have been rape questions.

Final exam for calculus coming up, oh joy.

I have no idea whether I will actually receive a degree from my university.

Best case scenario is some kind of bureaucratic hiccup and it's just been delayed in an office somewhere.

Worst case scenario is they've lost my dissertation (all three copies of it) and, as a result, "Student did not complete sufficient modules" and I'm therefore ineligible to graduate.

Both are equally likely and nobody will tell me which it is.

I'm not a uni graduate so I don't get the details of your plight or what can be done, but I assume you have prepared some large piece of work that has gone missing. Man I really feel for you, that's awful. I hate hearing things like this. All the best, you'd have to be very very unlucky for the worst possible outcome to transpire though, so I look forward to hearing "they found it!!" in the raves thread as soon as possible.

I have a horrible take-home exam, and it won't go away until Monday. :( This is not what summer holidays are meant to be like!

Marcos Valerio Fernandes uncovers the scandal!

@azzaman - You don't get to rant about that you lame college-graduator!!!

You gonna lord your diploma over us? ;)

@taillesskangaru - I'm sorry to hear that. I think you will be able to move on with time. It is really going to hurt for a while, but it will get better. It took me 3 or 4 years to get over my first big break up, but I don't think it will take you that long. I was really depressed about it, but I was also emotionally immature.
