I made the dinner we were supposed to have yesterday because she wouldn't eat it yesterday and the ingredients were going to turn if not cooked off.

Did she eat? No. Eating would be the sane reaction to hunger.

She is and seriously off her rocker. She's turned every word I've said around into something I didn't actually says. It's like she morphed into the MobBoss to my Formaldehyde.
It'll work out...in a few days. She actually just got a plate of cold dinner, so I have hope.

I went to bed at 1AM and my alarm had to ring at 8 30. But I was wide awake far before it happened.I still had a good deal of sleep, but not as much as I would have liked.

Also, I woke up and found that a good friend of mine has been hospitalised after harming himself. He's okay for now but it was a fright and I am frankly at a loss at how to deal with this.

Theoretically this should be the perfect amount of sleeping time. Sleep cycle is AFAIK 1.5 hours, so with 7.5 you have a good amount and you'd wake up in the middle of a REM phase, which means pretty easy.

Yes, more or less. But I spent maybe an additional half hour spinning in my bed unable to get asleep. And I woke up like at 8 o'clock or before.

That is quite a situation. But I'm always at a loss at how to deal with every marginally emotional or delicate situation, so I'm sorry I can't be of help. I never can.

It sucks how the Ontario Name Change Application form is really meant for people who have friends and communication with other human beings. What normally costs someone less than $150 is going to probably cost me over $400. Maybe I'll wait until 2014 to do it.

That and I want nothing to do with both my past and my family. Three pretty big reasons, really. I hate having a name that no Westerner can pronounce, especially if I feel no connection to that name.

Can you tell us your present name after you've changed it? I like challenges and a name that no Westerner can pronounce sounds challenging enough for me.

I can understand the pronunciation reason well enough. (I'd ask, out of curiousity what it is; but this is an anonymous forum. So - just as well.)

Names really bug the hell out me. Not especially first names. But the whole surname business that one inherits from one's parents. I mean, what is all that about? Then there's the "title" - which just has to be gender specific? Then there's women changing their surname on marriage - which seems to be slowly falling out of favour.

Why couldn't they just tattoo a bar code across my forehead at birth, and I could be done with the whole wretched business for ever?

Women changing surnames upon marriage shocked me the first time I heard it. I have two surnames, my father's first and my mother's first and my mother has two, her father's first and her mother's first. Ad infinitum.
