My family doesn't understand why I make
music. They're not particularly artistic or invested in art, which is fine, but their reception of my interests ranges from indifference to "Yeah he's young and probably just needs to get it out of his system", of course, few of my family members, the ones I'm close to, do understand it, which is heaven. Then again, it helped a lot to move out and go nuts by myself and simply
not care when they misunderstand
why the hell I'm doing what I'm doing. (Like "hey lj what are you going to do after you finish studying music, can you get a job with that degree, like, ever?")
Value of
productivity is
relative.
Reasons for productivity varies. Also, much of what you do might create ripple effects and
inspire other people's breakthroughs without your
ability to influence it, or even
know, ever.
Seriously, don't let them hate on you for creative activity. I can never concentrate long enough about a modding project to actually finish it, I've tried many times. I think it's a blissful ability to provide for a community,
no matter what small it is. Also, you'd be surprised to see
where your creative abilites might happen to lead you.
Cough.
You're totally right, and screw those people that would ruin your hobbies. They don't deserve your time when acting up like that.
Somebody telling you how to live your life?
Kick 'em in the shins.
