And as you said, it will pass. Moods come and go, and they are just moods. You are a scientist, I find comfort in the words of Democritis, father of modern science:
"Opinion says hot and cold, but the reality is atoms and empty space."

Cheer up. I had a friend (may he rest in peace) who said "If you are in a situation and at least one of your options is living, you DO NOT have a problem."
He was in the same line of work as I am, and spent much more time in jail.

    Thanks ReindeerThistle.

I slept good and feel much better today. :)

Plus I'm going hiking and that's going to be fun.

    You're welcome.
    Glad to hear it.
Going hiking myself -- urban hiking to the DMV to renew my license. :)

Rant: Heard yesterday a longtime friend/ ex-girlfriend's daughter - who's only 19 - has Elhlers-Danlos Syndrome, so they both could use some cheering up. I've already linked them some Mayo clinic data, and of course after 22 years apart I can still make her laugh. But the things the youth has to deal with would turn me pale.

Yesterday, in the dark while fumbling for the light switch in the hall, i managed to step on both the cats at the same time and it ended up with me falling down the stairs on my shoulder. Now everything is sort of sore and not pleasant

Health is man's greatest treasure. Sickness gives you a lot of perspective though. I am glad none of my friends were as sick as me at one point, but I feel they are missing out on some other finer points of life because of it.

I'm saying goodbye for 18 months to a very very close friend of mine tomorrow as she is moving to Ireland with her boyfriend. To give you an idea, her and I have been on holidays, just the two of us, three times in the last year and her boyfriend doesn't even mind.....that's how good mates we all are.

But I'm excited about the farewell tomorrow....she surprised me with a ticket to climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge (though I'm s..t scared of heights, should be interesting) and I'm taking the two of them here for lunch. It's a personal favorite and ridiculously yummy.

Went to bed a couple of hours early last night because I was, for some inexplicable reason, extremely tired last night. So naturally here I am at a few minutes before 5am, up for the day a little more than an hour too early.

The problem? I damned coffee set to auto-brew and be ready by 6am is -not- ready. So it's brewing and I'm sucking down a can of friggin' V-8 while I wait :(

You should NEVER leave something so important in the hands of technology without a back up. Chuck the girly V8, accept your fate, boil the kettle and have an iterim instant while you wait.

What have discussed about Americacentric posting VR? No, I've no idea about those old Folgers ads. I do know instant coffee contains caffeine, and in your dire situation it's caffeine FTW.

That sucks mate. On the bright side, now you have a reason to go to Ireland and I expect she'll be paying visits to your Bali Bachelor Mega-Plex. :) I know the internet doesn't substitute for in-person contact, but it does make it easy to stay in touch and doesn't cost the arm and leg of a long-distance phone call.

You can always convince her to hang out here. :mischief:

The notary shall be advised in the morning that "Brawa Breeze" is to undergo a name change.

Went on a pseudodate with a cute girl who I've known for a while but haven't seen in years. When the bill came, I said "This is a date, so you're paying, right?"

    1. She didn't pay
    2. I didn't get a kiss
    3. I will be seeing her again! And, she will be bringing over a friend
    4. Also apparently I'm "funny". I need to use this to get into her pants somehow. Or her friends'

I'm not sure what all this means, but I also had a 11% strong beer. Really wanted a kiss though, so this is a rant
