RANDOM RANTS XXXI: I hate my job

Norway: No tuition. You do need to pay a fee of about 50 euro per semester to a student union. This does, however, give you the ability to receive student discounts for stuff like the public transportation.

Denmark: Tuition if you live outside of the EU/EEA. In general, the fee is at around 10,000 euro per academic year. It is possible to avoid tuition if you're part of an exchange programme.

Sweden: Tuition for people outside of EU/EEA. No tuition if you're applying for doctoral studies or if you're in an exchange programme. However, there's the student union fee like Norway, but it's cheaper. It has benefits as well. Tuition fees tend to go from 10,000 euro to 15,000 euro depending on the programme. You also have to pay for your text books.

I would like to rant:

Ow ow **** **** ow my freaking neck hurts. Went to a wedding this weekend, I was the best man, and it was fun and cool and everything, but it was outside at the beach and I am SO SUNBURNED on my face and neck now holy ****, worst sunburn I've had in my entire remembered life (although I understand from my parents that I've had some terrible ones when I was too young to remember them). **** you sun, this means war!

Why did my computer have to be ready to be picked up on the same day I start my classes?! :(

I really don't want to pick it up and leave it in my car while I am in my class.

Are you guys joking?

Do tell.Is this only undergrad? Is it cheap to do postgrad stuff? Might have to start looking into the Scandinavian Option.
You don't have to pay anything at all for your basic degree in anything.
You can attain a degree in practically all of the major careers existing today without paying a single peso. Of course, all you get is classes, you have to find yourself a place to live in.
As for postgraduate degrees, it depends on what you want to do. Most doctorates are free too, Masters' Degrees (especially in Economics and Law) are not.

Today I have to turn in log of the various physical activities I've done in the past 12 weeks. I didn't keep track of anything, so now I'm just makin' up everything that I didn't do.

Oh well, that's what I used to do when I had to do reading journals/logs back in school. Just tedious, lol.

My rant is about my facial hair. I've been letting it grow since mid-May (around when my classes started winding down) and I'm really upset that my beard is so freakin' blonde compared to my actual head hair. The hair on my scalp is between blonde and a little closer to a light brown. But my beard looks ridiculously blonde compared to it. Kind of a dull straw color. It feels thick, but I think the color is making it look a lot less impressive than I think it is.

It seems like all the dudes that have gnarly facial hair around my age, are all dark-haired. So there might be something to my rant... I dunno.

Every type of degree is free in Brazil, although you need to pass a difficult test to enter Brazilian universities, and a Brazilian bachelor's degree takes about the same time as a European Bachelor's and Master's degree combined.

Also, Brazil has better beaches, football, e.t.c. compared to Argentina. :smug:

I have brown head hair, but my facial hair comes in more reddish. One of many reasons why I try to avoid anything more than stubble.

My facial hair is about the same color as my head-hair (dark brown), but it's really patchy and generally looks ridicuous if I let it grow much beyond a stubble.

UGHHHHHH....

My computer still restarts itself on first boot!!

Stupid wet weather...

Rant 1. I bit my tongue at work today and it hurt.

Rant2. A co-worker was sloppy with some labelling and it caused a great mess and it took some time to fix and even still we have to repeat some of the work. All over a simple miss labelling of a tube. [pissed]

@classical_hero:
#1. Ouch. That's really painful, seriously. People underestimate that one. It's agony.
#2. OK, that just sucks. Small mistakes have big consequences :/ OT: What sort of work is it you do?

I haven't had caffeine in a few weeks. I drank a few sodas this afternoon between 4pm and 7pm and now I can't fall asleep :( It's 2:40AM, lol.
