Mandatory criticism of the title: A stupid question. Cats have the greatest variety of prey of any carnivore. They can eat anything...albeit, they tend to turn their noses up at cat food.

Maddy can have salami if I am also having some and decide to share with her. Since I rarely do that, she doesn't get it often.

@Zkribbler: People are too indulgent with their pets sometimes. Maddy eats dry cat food, with an occasional treat of cat milk (about a spoonful a day, if I have some opened). Very occasionally I will share a little bit of fish or ham with her. She doesn't actually care much for chicken or turkey.

She's a very domesticated cat who would starve on her own.


One of my previous cats was 6 years old before he learned to catch mice (then he discovered it was fun, and that after they were dead, he could play with the bodies until I took them away and disposed of them; he never ate his kills).
