I've had... a hell of a week or two, in a mostly good way (mostly- the week did involve a couple of midterms and other schoolwork-things that weren't so great). Where to begin... well, it mostly boils down to two things, actually...

First one- so, last week, a friend of mine mentioned to me that the place he works at, a video game testing company, was hiring, I asked him for more details, ended up applying there, had an interview there, and it looks like I've got the job and should start working there fairly soon. It seems like a good job- better than my current one, anyway. I'm finding it all pretty exciting right now.

The other thing might be exciting me more, though- hard to quantify, because it's exciting me in different ways... there's this girl I've been hanging out with a lot recently. I like her and find her attractive, and... I think she feels the same way about me. I'm not really sure where this is heading yet, but... wherever it's going... I like it.

I feel... optimistic and happy about the future right now, and that's not something I usually feel... not to this extent, anyway. And it feels... really awesome.

:goodjob: sounds awesome!

Rant: Takhisis has to answer my pms :(

Rave: my 6th brief article was printed today in the local newspaper :) It is about Heraklitos of Ephesos, and a bit larger than the previous ones (this one is at 450 words, while prior to that most were asked of me to be no more than 400).

Okay, I think I just found a reason to potentially love TV again.

But (and this hadn't occurred to me until now) it might make an amazing TV series for a "serious" network like HBO or Showtime. No one thought Game of Thrones could be filmed and it has turned out to be wildly successful. Red Storm Rising might be able to grab that kind of cult audience.

I told you I was being schismatic unless the rights of the CFC Bulgars were recognised as legitimate, didn't I?

It turned out to be a good week. I used the unfortunate friendzoning as a catalyst to start eating healthier and working out more. I walked seven miles today, and my arms are feeling sore but good from the weight lifting yesterday.

Not to mention, a coworker of mine (she only works during college breaks) was home for the weekend and came by my job to visit. We had a really great conversation..we've actually known each other since early high school, and for some reason, even though we rarely see each other we always are super open and honest with each other. So it got kinda deep. We flirted pretty heavily, and I ended up asking for and receiving her phone number. Who knows if anything will happen over summer, but her hug goodbye lasted a lot longer than most hugs I'm used to.
So that's interesting. Things are looking up.

Forget the people who don't actually care, and stick with the people who you know are going to make you a better person. That's my life plan right now. And it feels really good.

Hooray! :D

Today, I discovered most exciting news - Wheel of Time is getting a serial!

Or, at least, there's a pilot of it.

Yes, but this time, on TV!

Although, it'll be an unfortunate failure unless they get a medium to keep contact with Robert Jordan.

Holy crap oncolytic viruses are awesome.

I continue to feel better about myself every day. My outlook on life has steadily become more optimistic, and basically my motto right now is, "Screw it, I'ma live my life how I want to." And it feels great.

Enjoy your -30 degree Sunday wind chill Toronto. Meanwhile, I'll be on the Gulf Coast basking at a balmy 12 degrees.
