Random Raves XLVII: Who wants cookies?

I just tried Dunkin Donuts' new Beyond Meat sausage breakfast sandwich, and it's really quite good!

When Timmies first introduced theirs, it was pretty good. But like with all their new menu offerings, once it became a permanent part of the menu they scaled back the quality and now it's merely average at best. Now it's usually below average, and I have a severe reaction to it. :( Unfortunate.

A&W is the gold standard for alternative burgers here but they don't deliver to my address, and the independent delivery service I use here doesn't go into malls, which is where the nearest A&W resides.

Oh I can totally imagine, but Dunkin Donuts is like a version of Tim Hortons that doesn't suck :P

So, fake sausage. Hmm.

Tim Horton's used to have ginger molasses cookies. Now they don't. (The last time I had some they tasted weird anyways.) I can't find any place to buy them in town and I'm not good enough to make some myself.

Is Door Dash in your area? One of the restaurants on their website for my city is located in one of the nearby malls. Or you could try Skip the Dishes and order from the mall outlet (they list every separate franchise location within your delivery area).

Door Dash is a criminal organization and I give them no money.

Skip The Dishes is a thing, but A&W isn't on them here for some reason.

What did they do? (I've never used them)

It might be worth contacting them to say they'd have more customers if they did get listed.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/24/nyregion/doordash-tip-policy.html

As DoorDash grew to become the biggest on-demand food delivery app in the country, it began doing something unconventional with customers’ tips: It used them mostly to subsidize its payments to delivery workers.

Even as it faced blistering criticism for the policy in February, DoorDash stuck with it.

No longer. DoorDash announced Tuesday night that it was dropping its tipping policy, which had effectively meant customers’ tips were going to DoorDash rather than the person who delivered their meal.

[...]

Under the policy, which the company adopted in 2017, DoorDash began offering a guaranteed minimum payment for a delivery.

A tip paid through the app now went mostly to offsetting DoorDash’s contribution toward the guarantee, rather than increasing the Dasher’s pay.

DoorDash had said the system kept workers’ pay consistent when customers tipped little or nothing. For example, if DoorDash guaranteed a worker $7 for a delivery and a customer did not tip, DoorDash would directly pay the worker $7.

But if the customer tipped $3 via the app, DoorDash would directly pay the worker only $4, then add on the $3 tip so that the worker would still get only $7.

That...doesn't seem legal.

My new winter coat had its first trial-by-fire in the winds of the 'urban canyon' downtown and passed with flying colors. Also: Long weekend.

Most of the time Youtube autoplay just plays songs I've heard before, but every so often, for indeterminate reasons, it goes above and beyond and serves me a bunch of really good songs I've never heard before one after the other...today, that happened

I did find a recipe though. And saved it in case I ever get good enough in the future.

(I appreciate the author including a 'jump to recipe' link. I know they have to write those ridiculous long stories for Google SEO purposes, but they can get annoying.)

Today I ran the first time after roughly not doing so for a half year. Not even running as warmup for my workout at the moment, rather taking the stepper.
I expected to be destroyed after 2 km.
I did 5 km on normal speed without any problems.
Feeling super pumped :strength:

A rave unrelated to girls. Respekt!

Better fitness leads to a better performance in bed.
You're welcome.
Aaaand he's back.
I was beginning to wonder what happened.

Should've said you made it so far because you were following a hot jogger.
