I'm seriously thinking about joining a political party for the first time in my life (the Ontario NDP, for anyone interested.) I feel I need to contribute more actively to the party that best reflects my views and fights for things I believe in.

Same here.
Was torn for a long time between SPD and Linke (The Left, very original name). Now I'm definitely going full leftard.
Once I get around to it.

Linke (The Left, very original name).
Would you prefer the Popular Workers' Socialist People's Socialist Party for People Who Work and Are Socialists?

When it comes to naming left-wing coalition groups, the less room we're given to muck it up, the better.

Peanuts in the shell are both a snack and an activity, a snactivity.

We had our first snowfall today. It didn't last long. But at least it's happened, so I can stop wondering if it would be in September or October.

On a somewhat related note, I bought some more penguins today.

So far, this thread has bombed harder than an ISIS recruit in the middle of... or wait, this isn't the edgy humor thread, is it?

I'd say it got off track like a stolen truck.

I feel like breast augmentation is a job requirement for female news anchors and reporters in the LA area.

I'm fairly sure that you can call that out as shameless sexism without someone sneering at you for being an evil feminist.

I really am just reporting what I see. You have to wonder how many women in that position do it out of economic necessity or at least how often that is considered when they make the decision to have it done. It's bizarre to see to be honest. There also doesn't seem to be many local reporters over 50 here either (of both sexes) though I suppose the obvious use of various plastic surgeries would bring down the average age-look.

You really have to appeal to your audience, and sex sells. If you have the looks and the body for prime time, you're going to make more money than if you don't. So the bubble headed bleached blonde* has to get augmentation surgery if she wants to survive in the industry? Not surprising from an industry that tends to sensationalize everything these days.

*(A tip o' the hat to Don Henley for that one.)

So, for everybody who was concerned that all those refugees will impact Germany culturally and make us more regressive, as of today the legal definition of marriage is officialy something between "two people of different or same sex".

It's a German law, things have to be spelled out.
Though I wish they'd cut out "two". Government has no business encouraging the monogamous lifestyle.

Bravo ?
Ah, I forgot. 15.
Still a bit surprised Bravo still exists.

Well, whatever. You can't expect 15 year old boys to pay attention in class when the little harlots are showing off their assets like baboons.

So a girl's freedom to wear whatever she wants ends when it affects boys who can't control themselves, is that what you're saying?

In general no, but schools are a special case because young teenagers still haven't learned to be...masters of their domain.

Men in general have not learned to be "masters of their domain", if they had, we wouldn't have as many rapes, sexual assaults and sexual harassment.
Read an article about Egypt just a few hours ago: http://www.faz.net/aktuell/sexuelle-belaestigung-in-aegypten-omnias-geschichte-15219865.html
What a horrible place if that's how stuff goes over there, what's the difference to Germany? That german men are told not to do stuff like that?

Well, there's enough of them who do it anyway. So clearly, they still can't control themselves. Seems to be part of the male condition.
So what's your response to a woman who is sexually assaulted on the streets? "Cover up!"?

It's just ridiculous, these boys grow up to become the men who do exactly these things, teach them not to be sexual predators, instead of telling girls what we can or cannot wear.
