Go back to Apolyton, you fiend.
How did you get so Apolyphobic? Show me on the doll were apolyton touched you ->

Be careful, she just wants you to sexually assault that doll so she can call the cops on you.

Once again I see Sims 3 is on sale and I'm tempted to buy it, and once again I see that all the DLC costs over €500 and I'm repulsed by it.

I have over 250 CDs at this point. This is another way of saying I'm not good at investing.

Is that a lot ?
I mean for people who grew up with CDs.
Last time I counted them I had around 170, but I know many people with more than 300.

300?! That's more CDs than I have games in my steam library!

I'm talking about people who are really into music, and many of those CDs were bought cheaply at concerts from local Punk bands.

I guess I have "low-end speakers" privilege, which is why I can just get my music from Youtube and it sounds about the same as buying an actual cd!

So there's that semi-successful German Rapper, Frauenarzt - the German word for gynecologist - and many of his tracks are often described as "Porno-Rap"... which is exactly what it sounds like.

So when a young girl around the age of 13 or so is anxious because her first visit at a gynecologist is scheduled to be soon, does not want to talk to their parents about it and instead uses google or youtube to find out what awaits her there... she is very likely to run into music with explicitly pornographic, degrading lyrics and highly sexualized imagery.

That's ... poetic on so many levels.

Moral of the story though... talk to your kids about these things.

Yeah but 8-tracks and LPs are cool and retro. CDs and VHS, less so. But perhaps one day.
They're not that cool when you have nothing to play them on. My record player was a victim of the mold last year (it was a portable one in a beautiful wood case that my dad gave me for my 12th birthday, along with my first Doodle-Art; I spent hours listening to records and coloring).

The new record players aren't anywhere close to aesthetically pleasing, although I will probably get one some day. I've got a lot of Irish Rovers music and other favorites that I don't have in any other format.

I have it + 5 DLCs.
1) Supernatural - altho it's cool to be a vampire, there's no way to turn off zombies who invade your garden & eat your vegies
2) Seasons - flat out bad. No benefit. It snowed all one summer on me.
3) Pets - taking care of them is more trouble than they are worth, unless you want to train horses
4) Island Paradise  Cool! Scuba diving :) ; building houseboats :hammer:; fighting sharks :scared:
5) Late Night -- meh. Urban landscapes :undecide: It has elevators! :goodjob:
Coolest part is customization  use cheat code to give yourself 100,000. Buy the sports car. Cover it with zebra hide. Change white to orange = tiger-striped sports car. :D

It's so warm, my rubber smears all over the paper when I try to use it to erase lines.

Oh, and while I'm complaining about art supplies anyway: My 0.3mm mechanical pencil eats through 6b lead in like... 3 minutes. That means I use one package in roughly an hour (including small breaks here and there). A package costs ~10 Euro. And here I thought I had chosen a cheap hobby.

Though, to be fair I could just switch to hb mines and they'd probably last 5 times as long, but 6b led is so much more fun.

As GS said, some cds just are bought very cheaply; there also used to be a massive cd bootleg scene.
Moreover, only full albums cost 20 euros or similar; singles (including just a single and a couple of b-sides) cost iirc something like 5 euros.

I have a few of my old cds. Never use them, though. Makes no sense when everything is digital.

And if my computer goes on the fritz, I can still listen to my CDs, since I have two or three things I can play them on. It would be very inconvenient if I had to have the computer on to listen to Enya, when I can just put a CD in a Discman.

I find it interesting how many people in Germany are still in favor of the 'Ankerzentren', which are... large camps that refugees are funneled into so they're concentrated at a centralized hotspot where they can be processed much quicker. Well, that's the theory. In reality, those seem to be a very dangerous concept. Creating facilities where hundreds of refugees are forced to sit around, with nothing really to work towards, with no contact to the outside, that just looks like it's asking for trouble. And when that trouble happens, surely that trouble will then be used to further justify the implementation of those camps.

And yet a large majority of people (64-76%, depending on the survey) are in favor of the concept. That really makes you realize that people are not actually interested in finding a good solution to the problem, they just want the problem to be isolated and out of their sight.

The proper term for that is "Not in my Backyard/Not in my Neighborhood!"
