Military coup in Sudan has ousted Al-Bashir. I know him as the guy who carried out the Darfur genocide, so I guess this is a good thing? The fact that it's the military apparently replacing him seems like not a good thing.

He didn't so much carry it out as order it… to be committed by (you guessed it!) the military!

The military either taking over or deciding who takes over is a millennia-old thing. The first time it happened in Imperial Rome was when the military assassinated Caligula and put Claudius into power (some of them wanted a return to the Republic, but then the Praetorians realized that without an Emperor, they no longer had a job... so they made sure they had an Emperor).

As for seeing what the U.S. could be like if Trump or Pence decided to use the military (or vice-versa)... Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale starts on June 9.

In my spam folder I just got an email with one of my old passwords from some site in the subjectline. I was worried until the spammer started extorting me by threatening to release videos of me watching porn. I don't have a webcam, and I don't watch porn.

I still am worried about the old password thing though. I don't use it anywhere anymore though.

I did some searching and figured it out. It's an old password from a site that was involved in a data breach.

It might be a good idea to change your current passwords, at least the ones on sites that are more apt to be compromised. And while there's nothing the RCMP can do, or the Anti-Fraud Centre (they only care if you've actually lost money), it doesn't hurt to let them know that this is going on.

You know guys here's a random thought I just had: I don't like things that start with "smart" i.e smart-phone, smart-watch, smart-home, even smart-missiles.... Soon everything will be "smart" only people will remain stupid
