I just got one of those scam emails where they grabbed one of my old passwords (from a database leak) and threatened to release webcam pictures of me apparently viewing content from a porn site to all my Facebook contacts if I didn't send them a nice donation of Bitcoin.

Be a bit more convincing if I had a webcam, used Facebook, or visited porn sites.

Watching The Jetsons as a child, I thought the buildings on stilts meant a cool space-age future.

Watching it as an adult, I wondered if the earth below was uninhabitable.

Watching it as a cynical adult, I’m pretty sure the studio was trying to cut production costs by hiring fewer background designers.

Wasn't it a symbol of affluence? They were in essence single-apartments, taking up as much space as a regular apartment building, and providing a view for the owners.
Though I agree they likely also saved time and money by not having to draw that much.

We won't be seeing flying cars in any future, unless the population density is severely reduced.

They're targeting the lowest common denominator: stupid young men who pretty much all watch pornography, lol. If they send out 10,000 emails they're certain to hit a lot in that demographic

Is Pence running, or if not, could he still run? If the answer is 'no' and Trump dies, the U.S. has a chance of avoiding a Gilead scenario for the next few years (Handmaid's Tale reference).

In any case, if Trump dies his followers will blame it on anything but coronavirus. Or they'll claim that some scapegoat deliberately infected him.

Given that slop it's nearly a straight line already, and at Canada's latitude it might be parallel to the ground.

BC has managed to slow the growth rate so it's sustainable (hospital capacity-wise), so that's nice. I guess. Ontario is... doing its thing.
