Random Thoughts XI: Listen to the Whispers

Well, the sand is in the name. If you're eating a sand-wich you're eating both the sand and the wich parts, just as, if you're eating an apple pie, you're eating the apple and the pie.

Some days I feel like I'm in some sort of elaborate computer simulation which is being watched from the outside by my wife.. and when it's all over and I take off the VR headset, she is going to start yelling at me for not figuring out that we were meant to be.. and for all the little things I have been doing wrong.

I've never even been married, which makes days like this even more annoying.

Is this a dream and then you wake up, or actually a sort of waking dream?

What about those who insist that a sandwich has to be made out of sand?

We call those "people at the top of Darth Vader's very extensive must-be-murdered list"

I'm a member of Robert Silverberg's email group and last year he said that he feels like he's in the middle of one of his own dystopian science fiction novels (his career spans over 60 years and he's in his 80s now... still making a list of places he'd like to travel when the pandemic is over).

I have the alignment chart right here, folks:
Yes, seen that before. In the Sandwich thread.

Random thought: Does anyone else think that a Random Sandwich Anarchy might be kinda fun?

(Provided that Pop-Tarts were not the only food-item available, obviously...) :vomit:

Anything 2.0 is s.... not very good.

He finds their lack of taste… disturbing. Sand gets everywhere.

Here’s a thought that’s random. No editing, just coming in word by word.

I feel like an empty vessel, but I don’t know what that means.
I’m just kind of tired without even having started the day.
Just cups of coffee and a mediocre breakfast.
I just feel like taking it slow today.
Nothing big, no problems.
People around me: today, you need to relax.
Everything is a lot less important than you think it is.
Importance? No, critical, that’s the word.
We have time to fix it up right.
Don’t worry about it.
Our job is uncharted waters today, so what you imagine and what are possible, maybe their intersection isn’t at where you think it is.
Chill out. I’m going to today.
No problem.

@Drakle tagging you because this ties into my tirade-tiredness from the other thread. I wrote a poem as a preemptive generic reply while I am enjoying my lunch. (Lunch is good!)

Somebody Obnoxious said:
My stupid thoughts on the subject are as follows: ...

Yak yak yak
I don't care what you think
Blah blah blah
Your opinion stinks

Gab gab gab
Guess what, I don't care
Chitty chat chat
Stop wasting my air

Yada yada yada
You're still going on?
Whoop whoop whoop
I'm already gone

Bing bing bing
I'm ignoring your reply
Ding ding ding
And now, goodbye

This poem perfectly sums up my views toward a couple of UCP sycophants on my MLA's FB page.

The Fluid Air Products sign has been there since 1990.

How does one delicately tell the owner that the FAP logo with a spray symbol coming out of the letters is no longer appropriate in 2020 thanks to the internet?

Also, I'm not sure what the slang "mood" is about that all the kids are supposedly using.

There are so many memes floating around now.
That Star Trek episode about the Darmok isn't silly anymore.
A whole civilization that talks using nothing except memes and culture references is irritating!

Thanks for the reminder!

Actually, this phrase tends to get used in response to posts that make no sense.

They say the Vodka Belt is a group of countries in northern, central, and eastern Europe that has the highest consumption of vodka in the world. But as far as I'm concerned it's the belt my father used to beat me with after school*

*this is not true and just a joke

I have been up for the last two hours and have run the full gamut of my feelings, listed in no order: anxiety, depression, hopelessness, loneliness, creativity, confusion, motivation, aspiration, egotism, humility, and neutral. Right now, neutral.

One other thought, Scooby Doo and The Breakfast Club kind of, not totally, share a basic cast: jock, bimbo, geek, pothead. Now, the biggest problem is Ally Sheedy as there were only four humans in the former and that dog never really had a personality anyway other than being pothead’s companion. Sheedy gets the consolation prize though of having been prominent in other movies in my upbringing: WarGames and Short Circuit, which is more than I can say for any of the other cast save for Anthony Michael Hall who later would be cast as Bill Gates in the TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley.

I’ve been seated writing here now for 18 minutes, and I’m kind of going back to that creative-confusion stage, as it were; I don’t know what could be both fulfilling and allow me to sustain a minimum standard of living. Gut feeling says to just have breakfast and tune out for a bit.
