I think Contempt of Court punishments for the "attitude" of people in our secular holy places, after those with the most power and respect in our society Take from those with the least, usually deservedly in the first place.. but compounded exponentially by failing to grovel... that's an actual malice without purpose or redeemable explanation. Worthy Of Contempt.

Yeah, modding Civ3 is incredibly easy (but tedious) once you sit down and actually try. The only complication is palette editing, which in the year of our Lord 2022 is an absolute pain in the ass to do properly as the software requirements have been obsolete for almost twenty years and all the old recommended programs are gone into the abyss.

I wonder how tens of people can make a living on youtube simply by trolling another person there. It is pretty lame :/
Anyway, it appears that the Wings of Redemption saga may finally (?) be over, given he was banned on youtube, twitch, twitter and maybe even facebook. In the end, the army of trolls won...

All you need to do is get into a feud with someone, and other people sit back with popcorn and watch.

Having a multimillion-dollar bounty placed on your head by a sovereign government tends to up one's legitimacy and social cachet.
Such as happened to Osama bin Laden?

Let's see, dumbest thing I saw a kid at school do..

In grade school, I saw a kid stick a paper clip into an electrical wall outlet. Boom!
In high school, I saw two girls standing on top of a cafeteria table swinging fists like Rocky vs. Drago. An 8 foot fall to the rock hard ground for the loser.
Also in high school, a kid lit up a smoke in class and the teacher exploded in anger. That teacher always said 1) don't be a punk & 2) don't build your house on the side of a cliff

I read that Rushdie is 75, and was stabbed 10 or so times... He may lose an eye and face other problems.
It is impressive that the death contract (by a state, no less...) persists.
I once tried to read his Satanic Verses, but found it rather poor and gave up. Since then, I merely thought of him as someone who became a celebrity due to the stupid actions of Iran to place a death contract on him, when otherwise very few would know him.
Anyway, the religious death contract is utterly barbaric and contemptible.

One more proof that, almost inevitably, one will use anything of (in their view) note they come to learn:
Since my new lit seminar already has some comment juxtaposing the human reader to a machine (the Chinese room etc), I now thought of including a passage about the juxtaposition between humans and ants, in the nice Goedel, Escher, Bach massive book (itself also technically on AI, though in reality it focuses on Goedel).
Same angle, really: such systems (the author of GEB actually imagines an ant colony as a variation of a formal system) are geared towards a set reaction (probably due to the system itself identifying the external object often or by and large as akeen to a point in the system), while humans (and human readers of literature) are the antithesis of that.

I don't like that a (often primary) part of the proof of memory is that the people asked tell you what day it was at date x. There are (relatively simple) math formulae for that thing, and it takes as little to calculate as it would (does?) for the people in the video.
So knowing the day most definitely isn't proof - it doesn't mean they don't have an amazing memory, just that it shouldn't be part of the proof at all.

So it will reach 2023 pages by September at the latest.
Without me, it'd probably still be in the middle ages ;)

We all make an effort.
