[R&F] Rise and Fall Screenshot discussion

So...

Leader 1 (the player) - Probably the leader of Mongolia.
Leader 2 - Cleopatra
Leader 3 - Pedro II
Leader 4 - Gorgo
Leader 5 - Unknown leader with headgear
Leader 6 - Mvemba a Nzinga

For the leader of Mongolia, all Genghis Khan, Kublai Khan and Ögedei Khan are good choices to me. Genghis and Ögedei are good choices for warmongering Mongolia, Kublai could focus on different traits.

For the second one, I really don't know who that could be. But if it's leader of Fourth Greece Byzantium, I wouldn't object. Byzantium would make a good religious Civ. And a good scenario with the Ottoman Empire.

Yeah what was the story behind that again?

The Pueblo Council refused to help Firaxis voice this leader for Brave New World, because he was a religious leader, and the Tewa didn't want their language spoken in a game. So they replaced the Puebloans with the Shoshone.

A lot of the Puebloans are wary of outsiders and pretty secretive.

There are still other Puebloan tribes that aren't affiliated with the Tewa: the Zuni or Hopi might be more amenable.

How about Apache for that headband leader?

While true, I think this would be pretty disrespectful to those who didn't want their language portrayed.

I believe it is in the Tech tree. Don't see it in the Civic tree in this build.

This is the civics tree from 23:23 in the YouTube video:

The following are the changes I see in this build compared to the current game:
  • Ancient
    • State Workforce - Government Plaza, 1 GT
    • Early Empire - +1 Casus Belli
  • Classical
    • Defensive Tactics - +2 Casus Belli, 1 GT
    • Recorded History - +1 Diplomatic Policy, 1 GT
    • Theology - 1 GT
  • Medieval
    • Mercenaries - -1 Military Policy
    • Medieval Faires - 1 GT
    • Guilds - 1 GT
    • Divine Right - Kotoku-in wonder
  • Renaissance
    • Humanism - Taj Mahal wonder
    • Diplomatic Service - -2 Casus Belli
    • Reformed Church - St. Basil's Cathedral wonder
  • Industrial
    • Civil Engineering - Statue of Liberty wonder, 1 GT
    • Nationalism - 1 GT
    • Natural History - Ferris wheel building, __ building, "water park/amusement district", +2 envoys
  • Modern
    • Conservation - +3 Envoys
    • Mass Media - 1 GT
    • Mobilization - -1 Defensive Pact, 1 GT
    • Capitalism - __ building
    • Ideology - +1 Casus Belli
  • Atomic
    • Cultural Heritage - +3 Envoys
    • Cold War - +1 Military Policy, __ wonder
    • Professional Sports - __ building
    • Rapid Deployment - +1 Military Policy
  • Information
    • Globalization - 1 GT
    • Social Media - +1 Diplomacy Policy, 1 GT
    • Future Civic - 1 GT
GT = Governor Title - 13 points with Future Civic able to be done multiple times

Awesome work, but you missed the GT at Early Empire. Also, that's a City State Envoy at Theology, not a GT.

Neither Hopi nor Zuni are at all related to Tewa; Hopi is Uto-Aztecan and Zuni is an isolate. "Puebloan" is just a culture group of unrelated peoples who live in pueblos in the American Southwest. I'll be honest, I don't really care to see a Puebloan tribe--I think there are better options. I'm just saying that if Firaxis has their heart set on a Puebloan people, there are other Puebloans besides the Tewa. I think the Hopi or Zuni would have been a more interesting option in the first place, personally. Or there's always their arch-rivals, the Navajo.

The Navajo would do well in R&F with Code Talkers.

I'm betting on Ogedei for his founding of Karakorum. Capitals are important for leaders in this game, and Genghis didn't really have one. Kublai's would be basically Beijing.

Wouldn't those be part of the American civ though?

They can easily rename it to Khanbaliq, unless they want to do Shangdu (Xanadu) for a pop culture reference. Cleopatra rules from Ra-Kedet, or Alexandria, which is on Macedon's city list.)

They could then they would have replaced one of the most unique and fascinating cities in the world's history for something far more associated with China than Mongolia. I hope not.

What I meant was since Ra-Kadet and Alexandria already can both exist on the same map, then so could Beijing for China and Khanbaliq for Mongolia.

Also, Istanbul and Constantinople.

I think what you mean is that it makes up the entirety of Macedon's city list. :p

That's nobody's business but the Turks. ;)

If anybody can decipher or look further on this matter via photoshop or whatever, we would find tooltips for St. Basil's Cathedral. You can try it yourself. 1:04:33 YT
