25 year-old grad student ... Astronomy Physics, working on Intermediate Polar Binary Systems which is way more interesting than it sounds, trust me.

I started playing CivI on a school computer back in grade 7 (or 6 or 8, I don't remember for sure) but started playing seriously when CivII was released. I've played every generation fairly religiously since, taking short breaks only now and again when another single player computer game captured my interest (mostly the GalCiv series, and Zoo Tycoon games).

I'm heading straight for my thirties and right now I'm browsing CFC and listen to Cypress Hill and random Metal music.

I am 36 and I am a Hemtologist Oncologist. I live in Texas and just bought civ 4 and will try to find the time to get into it.

I am seriously overwhelmed right now with the game.

27, living in sunny (and muggy) south Florida, doing layout gruntwork for the local paper and seriously considering going back to school for an LIS degree. I have dual bachelor's degrees in English and Philosophy which, of course, aren't worth the paper they're printed on in the job market.

You might get a job as a librarian ... maybe ...

23, lawyer in a real estate company.
Latter means I have no real time to play and I must ease my pain browsing this forum.

36, company manager/manager QESH (Quality Environment Safety and Health) for 2 companies in the Netherlands.

Looks like a well educated bunch here on the forum. Cheers mates.

Cool  there seems to be a fairly old and well educated demographic compared to the average gaming personages, I would say. I think I come out as pretty much mister average for the forum:

I'm 31 and an IT Manager for a UK motor dealer network.

Cool, I start to see a bell curve shaping up, us 30-35ers being the median age group :)

On the right side of the bell curve...

Even now, I believe that this forum has a higher medium age than the other ones. What suprised me is the high number of scientific related jobs.... I thinked that I was almost the only one ....

P.S I shouldn't be suprised. A lot of posters here apply a very mathematical aproach to the game problems.

32, Chemical/Process/Controls Engineer and Software Developer

Played Civ I on roommates computer until Civ2 came out and then it was all over. First computer I bought because of a game but not the last (damn you Civ4).

17 here

i am a student mostly but i do work at the local YMCA :)

far from the intellectual sounding jobs that you guys posses...but with my youth comes time...it may mean blowing off some homework or studying..but in the long run isn't it worth it? :D

also i started with Civ III, but I did try Civ II but couldn't get around the lack of graphics. I know, I must be pretty spoiled.
