Role Play Challenge: "Will the Real Suryavarman Please Stand Up?"

@DanF5771: According to F4, all share the OR favorite civic. Whether this is because there is an exception to the random personality rule to make it harder for you to guess their real identity or whether this is a bug in the Foreign Advisor, I don't know.

@Mad: Personally, I think you should kill off green/white sury just because of his ridiculous color situation. However if you don't, you should definitely write down that he is in position #4 on the foreign advisor. The ordering is the same for all the FA screens except Active deals so you'll have at least some tiny understanding of the diplo situation. Too bad you can't put signs on the advisor screen like you can on the map. :p

Wait Sury of the Kermer x 7.... you are crazy...

I never even though to try the same leader and civ multiple times in one game.

Apostolic Palace votes are going to be hilarious.

"Stop the War against Suryavarman II"

Apostolic Palace votes are going to be hilarious.

"Stop the War against Suryavarman II"

.... and the candidates are: Suryavarman II and Suryavarman II. Which one will you vote for?

I believe the point of this game is to play without telling who is the real SURY you are talking about. Therefore, I would not recommend using Sury-1 or Sury-A, B, etc. :)

Yes, that is the point! Perhaps I shall regret it, but......

Bah, what is the point of knowing which Suryavarman is which. When they are all dead, it diplomacy won't matter... ;)

73 posts and not eaven after 2000bc think this one wins in popularity by far:)

We all love sury ;)

You shouldnt even call yourself Madscientist, you should call yourself Suryavarman II, so AP and UN will be even more confusing.

EDIT: It can no longer be tolerated- we demand you cancel your deals with the vile Khmer!

Does anyone know how the program AI's index the other AIs in the code? I'm assuming it's by some means different than name, or the program would malfunction when all the leaders had the same name, everyone hopelessly diplomatically confused.

"Will the Real Suryavarman Please Stand Up?": Part II continued

Wow, I feel completely our of water and lost here! Where oh where to start.

OK

Techpath: Archery/fishing/sailing/IW (because I realized late you cannot build a pasture for horses in a jungle without it!)/HBR (because I teched damned IW for the horses)/Math

So I stayed at war with Sury, retreating for a bit as the new capital was on a hill and we were not prepared to take it. Still, I did not want a second diplomatic penalty from Sury, No not the Sury we are at war with, the other Sury. In fact Sury, Sury and Sury are a little ticked at us for declaring War on Sury. But fear not, looks like we may have a friend in Sury!

So enough of this idiosy, onto concrete matters.

SuryB0000.jpg

Yes I meant concrete, literally. I could have built more axes faster and killed Sury but I really needed something stable and long standing to stabilize my sanity. The Great wall benefits last all game, I'll take it!

So I brought a new stack of units to attack Sury

SuryB0002.jpg

Only to find a well defended hilled capital, so we proceded to march past it and pillaged a bit.

We then found

SuryB0003.jpg

Sury's second city!!!! We razed it, stole a few workers, and

SuryB0005.jpg

Sued for peace! Alot of the Sury's have alphabet which leads me to be concerned about our tech rate. Then I remembered Sury, Sury, Sury, Sury, Sury, and Sury are creative and thus likely built a fast library and bulbed alphabet. OK, no problem.

So we settled city #3 between the cities

SuryB0006.jpg

We then rebuilt our army to take this Barbarian city.

SuryB0007.jpg

Because it's the easiest source of Iron arround!

It was a nice city, too bad the city autorazed. Damn, well we start on a settler.

I should say we actually have been building somewhat intelligently and I think I am playing the game fairly well. Unfortunately I feel as if I am free falling into a bottomless pit that ends at satan's doorstep. I'll tell you, I am heading to the local winseshop tomorrow before I attempt the next segment.

As we wait for the settler, Buddhism has spread to us.

SuryB0009.jpg

We convert, and open borders with Sury Inc. Of course we are getting some diplo penalties as some Sury's are other Sury's worse enemies, but no demands yet.

The tech situation shows
SuryB0010.jpg

So we can trade HBR for a few religious techs. Bah, we need no religious techs. Sure we need to adopt OR, but if we don't tech Monotheism we cannot adopt it right!

And after settling the city on the exact spot the BArb city was, another Babr city pops up.

SuryB0011.jpg

We are also using a chariot to determine exactly where the assorted Sury's are.

We mercifully ssaved here,

Our lands so far

SuryB0012.jpg

Still a good amount of land to settle.

And a look at the capital

SuryB0013.jpg

Not a bad city. Not sure how much more we can work, but nice 5 size city!

So there we are.

I may attack the Sury we previously attacked to eliminate them, but otherwise I wait until they start ripping into each other. For now I say we tech towards teh standard Currency/CoL, settle a little more, and build up the military a little more.

Your family will be worried about you when they wake up in the middel of the night because you keep screaming. NOT MORE SURYS PLEASE NO MORE SURYS.;)
