ROTQM7: Really?! Okay . . . Thanks for the "Memories"

Being the Divine Engineer™, I definitely vote for the wonder. Invasion can wait. And a re-roll is the most likely outcome of this game anyway :D .

It's way too early to be talking abt invasion anyway .... we don't even have a galley. I would stick to Masonry for now. Whether we go for Monotheism from there is the debate here.

Given that we are grabbing the TGLighthouse, we could probably finish Monotheism and Bronze Working while building a lighthouse. and then upgrading it to the great one. Even if we don't, we could be building ships in the time being. Having BW does not automatically means we can invade.

Since it makes no difference either way, I don't see why we shouldn't grab Monotheism in the time being.

Well there seems ill-advised vague consensus to let Zara grow unhindered and go religion hogging :mischief:, so...

We're also building a worker that can't really do anything at the moment either, well there's one mine he can build.

So we start and get some Autosaving... action

There was a work boat queued behind the worker which I change to a lighthouse.

We rock.

Masonry comes in and I select BW as we can at least chop out our Great Lighthouse.

Worker has nothing better to do, so I mine the wine.

We build a lighthouse and I've selected TGL but no hammers in yet so we can change if we want.

civ4screenshot0002lt7.jpg

I'm assuming we want to chase Mono after BW. I'd get a boat going as quick as we can to scout out Zara.

Any love for a Feudalism slingshot with the Oracle if we're going all wonder hoggy?

:whipped: Its whipping time! :whipped:

Instead of the wine, had it not occurred to you that the sheep is a better "mineral" to mine? I thought I mentioned "mining the sheeps" in my report on why I build the worker.

Maybe a galley/WB before the TGL to explore instead of watching the "Autosaving" message 30 times (or 7 times if you have not changes the default autosave period to every turn). The fishes in the west suggest there is land in close proximity.

now, now children . . .

I'm getting that familiar sinking feeling here, but am pressing on regardless ~

so, i think we need that WB asap (which is why i slotted it in  ) I'd have to say at least a 2nd city is a priority, no?? considering we only get 3 of them . . .

let's get a some focus and come up with some short and long-term strategy ~ are we going to try and win by going all out on wonders, or maybe GPs or maybe a little of both . . . i don't think this is a game where we can go meandering about, so if it's just me confused about the strategy, fill me in, and let's play on!

and i'll PM ruff

Roster
pholkhero
GreyFox
Ozbenno > just played
Ruff Hi > UP NOW??
Imhotep > on deck?

yawn - what? Did someone mention my name? Sorry - totally missed the start of this game. But I will not be able to play now. In fact, I might just be a lurker for this.

skip pls.

Edit: just read thru this crazy post ... I see from my Mick Dundee pic, that I have to play an Aussie from the outback now living in NY? That will be a little tough - firstly, because I came from Sydney (but my parents have a farm near Kyogle with is sort of outback-ie) and I live just North of NY (but I do work there).

I returned home last Nov (first time in 8 yrs) ... here is a little off topic reading.

aww ~ the first monkey wrench thrown into our plans ~

an understandable and very pholk-like self-promoting recusa :goodjob:

okay, Imhotep is up, and I guess we'll need a sub for ruff ~ anyone interested??

Lurker: I... Don't make me... I am in enough SGs already, and I will be OOP 14th-20th. If you can live with that, lousy time due to school () and some very :smoke: moves every once in a while (Have a look at how Rolo got all :gripe: Greyfox on me in Apocalypse Now, just because I managed to lose our first GS to a stray chariot), and around Emperor levle play normally, then consider this a sign-in.

Otherwise, I'll just enjoy lurking.

I guess we'll need a sub for ruff
err - did I say I would need a replacement? I said SKIP. But, you are probably right. Better to act as if the court jester isn't in the house.

no, no, no ~ i misunderstood ~ i thought the "I can't play now" to be in reference to the game as a whole ~ let's keep Ruff in the roster for now, with just a skip.

sorry all to those who wished ot join up, but in case we need alternates, it'll be DiamondEye and Methos (where I can secretly retaliate for the infraction he nailed me for years ago . . . where's the evil smiley rubbing his hands together?? ;) :) )

and ruff, I'll keep you in your space in the roster

I'm up I hear? Okay, got it. I'll play until the Great Lighthouse is finished, after all I need a point that presents itself for stopping :D ;)

:egypt:

what if pholkhero started a game, and no one played? :(

actually, that *would* be a funny joke

Maybe that stopping point hasn't presented itself to Immy yet, and he's still playing?

You'll get a report of him winning/losing this when the time comes, you just gotta hold on to your panties ;)

Sorry for the delay...

The highlights of my set of 20 turns:

BW comes in, we have no copper.

More importantly, we discover Monotheism.

And we found Hinduism.

I chose Priesthood next, no beakers invested though.

I mapped out the landmass below us, Zara has a size 4 capital with Corn and an Archer and Warrior in it. The landmass seems rather big. We have no passage to the West until our Culture expands. The great Lighthouse in 2. Please revolt to Slavery, OR and a Religion after that.
