I see, never read that book or saw the movie. There were some anti-catholics back in the day but I think it's pretty much a non-issue now except for the whole pedo thing.
Furries are an interest group; said interest is animals with human characteristics - walking on two-legs, speaking an actual language, basically being human but with animal anatomy. This interest is the only unifying characteristic; there are plenty of different types. Some furries just like to draw them. Others go all out and dress up in animal suits.
People who are fans of Shadow the Hedgehog, who is the Scrappy of the Sonic series; that meaning that you either him or him. Many Shadow fans are rabid fangirls who give us all a bad name, talking about wanting his babies and stuff.

I think a big one would be the idea that Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt in an Exodus.
I mean, that's a story that a huge portion of the World's population seems to be familiar with, and that nearly everyone believes as 'plausible'.
Now, obviously it's okay for there to be misconceptions about history, but this one is really widespread and it's really conserved (i.e., many of the people have the same misconception). And just imagine how different the world would be if people gave weight to the negative evidence against this myth! Criticism within Islam would be much more acceptable. Passover celebrations would be quaint. etc.
Clearly, it's a mythologised recounting of a decades-long migration. Fire from the sky and showers of bread are clear signs of a good story, not history.
Spiders start their webs by beginning on an object, descending, walking across the floor and climbing on another object, and then trolling the slack until the thread is tight.
