Server migration completed

The forum tried to double post again, and was stopped by the 30s limit. I hit Post, went to the kitchen to fetch something, and when I came back was met with the screen that said I needed to wait another 25s to post again.

Never saw this before the migration.

Speed has been much better over the last few days, btw :)

This bug isn't releated with the server migration, but it seems i should post it here.
If I open the overlay menü in the top line ( General CivBE Civ5 CivRev Civ4Col Civ4 Civ3 Civ2 Civ1 Misc Marketplace ) the menu of Civ4 will be placed outside of the window.

I use Firefox and this error appears on several PCs and several resolutions (1920x1080, 1280x800).

Edit: Reason could be the selected font size by the user. The menu height exceeds the screen size.

It does look like some attachment files are missing on the server. I am re-uploading some files now.

The attachments in that thread should work now.

I am checking other attachment folders to see if anything missing.

Does CFC derive any income from the Amazon links at the bottom of most pages? As far as I can see, the link to Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&tag=civilizationfana&camp=1789&creative=9325&path=subst%2Fhome%2Fhome.html) is the same as when we were hosted on Atomic Gamer.

Yes, we do get commissions when people click the link and make purchases from Amazon. It's very insignificant amount though and I was considering replacing it with Adsense links.

Link for Modern Earth still goes to AtomicGamer. Can't download.
Fixed.

I still have the Civ IV patch files ... do I need to host these somewhere as well as they are no longer at the game developers website.

A few quick notes-->

1) Civ V Hall of Fame is mostly working now (including submissions it seems) but the Veni Vidi Vici default tab labeled "Overall" is not showing properly. Just shows a bunch of code like

"select s.category_id, s.user_id, u.name as username, s.cat_tscore, s.cat_cnt,
s.tot_cat_cnt, t.vvv_tscore, t.vvv_cntfrom (" etc.

instead of the tables it should show. The other tabs in the VVV work normally.

2) I would be assured of the functionality of Civ V HoF submissions if the backlog of submissions in there could be checked. Some I put in during the migration that worked, and then those games submitted since the HoF site migrated have yet to be accepted - still labeled "Not Checked" Hopefully no issues will arise, but I am hesitant to submit any more games until it assuredly works.

3) I second/third the suggestion to put a donate button or tab on the site pages. An annual donation "drive" would not bother me in the least either. I would gladly contribute annually. I have ads completely blocked on all sites, so my clicks and pageviews are not helping the cause that way.

Thanks for all the efforts. Site is much faster these days for me as well.

Not sure if it's related to the server migration issue, but something odd happened. The system logged me out, but I could still see the same Dark Blue skin I always use.

I don't understand why I was logged out, since I didn't do that, and I always have the "remember me" box checked. And shouldn't I have seen the default skin while being logged out?

We can re-enable it. But tags are never really used much, correct?
They've been rarely used since only the original poster can apply tags to them.

Tags are sometimes useful.

What would be even more useful would be if we could do searches using words with 3 letters (it's impossible right now to do a search of the "Ask a(n)..." threads in OT without doing it manually - and that category of threads goes back YEARS.

Tags are great and anyone should be able to add them. they add another dimension to the conversation. They are another way to participate and should be searchable.
