Your definition is still too loose.

Are you talking about people with ambiguous sexual genitalia? Or transsexuals?
Which one is there more porn of? That's probably the more useful definition on the Internet. :mischief:

Um. If one gonad is functional while the other is not, then the ambiguity in the eyes of the Medical community is cleared. If on the very minuscule chance that both are operative, then the ambiguity sets in.

You're forgetting that both can be inoperable.

Mutilating a person's body doesn't make them a different sex. I wouldn't trust someone so irresponsible to conduct defense or liberation.

Technically speaking, a sex-change operation changes your sex, i.e. your being male or female. What it does not do is change your gender, i.e. your being a man or woman.

It doesn't change sex. Sex is what you are. Gender is how you act.

Only gender can change.

Until the sex-change op. was born.

Hmm, this doesn't have anything to do with the OP though. And I don't think there are surgically made hermaphrodites.

I don't think what's between your legs or how your shirts button should be a factor in whether you can serve in the military.

As long as they don't whip out their gear in front of other soldiers.

If we can seriously consider a cross dresser for Commander-in-Chief and justify it by his alleged War on Terror creds, I don't see why we should exclude shemales from the military.

I think we can all agree that shemales should only serve in shemale units though if they're in the military, just for comic value.

With a couple of mis-assignments. "Don't ask me to be moved to another unit because you are telling me you are not a shemale. Are you questiong the competency of the chain-of-command in assigning you to this unit? Isn't a military paralegal kind of a cross between a paratrooper and a lawyer? How is that all that different than being kind of a cross between a man and a woman?"

Some people are actually males in a female body, or reversed. Your sex or gender (I think they're synonyms) is what you think your sex or gender is. If you think you're male but you're in a female body, you can get your body changed. And if you for some reason would want to go in the army, then you should simply be able to.

I have absolutely no idea why someone would want to go in the army, but if they want to, they should be able to.

I don't care if they get the "operation" (and I wouldn't deny them the "operation"), but they are still the same sex. You cannot change that. Gender is a social word.

Either you are born male or female.

Or if you don't live in utopia, but in planet Earth, you know from biology that there are exceptions.

And I don't mean "I was born in wrong body, I made a sex change" -. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ., but really woman by DNA (and boobs and stuff) but with with male genitalia when popping out of her mommys tummy.

There really is a big difference between a person whom has changed sex medically without clear physical reason (only mental), and between a person whom was born physically that way (but might have required to undergo some medical stuff to make him/herself look more normal).

And this isn't IMHO. These two different cases should be named differently. (Notice that I am not stating an opinion about this matter, just pointing out stuff (exception being the use of word ". .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ." above)).

Hermaphrodites (how do you spell it) ofcourse are third separate thing from these.

People are people, let em fight, and dont give special treatment based on gender.
