Little Raven
On Walkabout
Even if he wishes to pay his respects to the hijackers? You say "more power to him" when someone is trying to pay respect to the hijackers? Which is obvious enough to anyone who has read any international news reports over the last ~5 years.
Ahmadinejad says he wishes to pay respect to 'the innocent lives' lost on that day. He's a guest - he gets the benefit of the doubt unless he does something blatantly offensive.
What gives him the right to be anywhere except the UN Assembly, anyway? He is not a guest of the US, he is a guest of the UN. What "right" does he have to step foot on US soil?
He doesn't have a right to visit the site, but he should certainly be afforded the courtesy. He's a head of state - democratically elected, even. We may not like him or his politics, but that doesn't mean we have to resort to kindergarten-level 'My side, your side!!!' rhetoric.
What are we, 5?
