I'd be very surprised to see a positive correlation between pot use and violence

My TA once said:

"Get one group of guys to smoke pot for half an hour, and another group to drink beer for half an hour ... and then see which ones want to get into a bar fight"

I agree with that. Except for the people made schizophrenic from pot use. I have personally been assaulted by someone whose schizophrenia was triggered by cannabis. Roughly 8-13% of the population can get schizophrenic symptoms from pot, and there's no current way of weeding out these people ahead of time (Because they aren't expressing symptoms).

As well, I suspect that most muggings (in wealthy countries that have a welfare system) are done by junkies.

It's funny how people assume legalization of pot will cause all these violent things yet a complete legalization of these things in America has never been tried , in the context that it was illegal before hand. They just seem to know. Fools.

More funny when you consider that other people assume that legalization of concealed-carry firearms their state will cause bloody havoc when it already is happening elsewhere, and two-thirds of US states have found violence to at worst remain constant. People and their preconceptions are not easily parted.
