In my signature, I should have attributed the quote to the guy on the Civ V Poland Civ thread, but I chose to just say to heck with it. If I ever get a PM about it I probably will, but as it is I like to think that it works as a simple addendum to anything I might post, You might want to take into account that maybe it's a Polish thing. We're an obnoxious people, and have been known to rise up and mock people, especially if we can justify it in the frame the most radical liberal European idealism on the market. We want to rise up, overthrow the vested interests and give everybody a veto.

Are you talking about the Western civ thread? I put up this whole thing about how Poland might be geographically at the edge, and the population is aware of that and always has been and have sought to compensate with radical liberal politics (Parlimentary vetoes, Heart of Darkness, whatever they could get away with without Germany and Russia invading until Germany and Russia started invading) just so everyone knew they were still European.

I mean, they're on some crazy trips over there on that thread.

I don't think she will keep her job though, at least not with the report I heard, it hit the wrong part of the brain for that, although I know somebody who was shot in the head, twice, with the same bullet. I can explain the story if anybody cares to hear it.

in related news, heard from my teacher today that a friend of his friend's (or something like that) was a truck driver, mugged by someone for some petty cash and then shot in the back of the head with a .22 pistol

The bullet didn't penetrate - that's a really thick skull or a reaaaally quality pistol

He was in the military, Iraq I believe, and a bullet came through his helmet, went into his head, then hit the back of the helmet, ricochet, and went into the skull again. I have seen the scars, the one makes a sort of line, although it broke some skull, and the second actually went into the skull, although both still count as being shot in the head.
