Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 24th of February 2014

@SO: The question I think DH is posing is 'where is the Gladiator to be imagined as coming from? Is he a sort of 'special captive' and thus should not come from animals (and he should not be able to take a captive if you get a gladiator) or is it to be envisioned in another way?
 
I know but what should be happening? As far as I can see both are logically OK as it could be said that the new gladiator unit comes from local people drawn to your cause by the might of Sparticus. Rather than it is the survivors of the unit you just killed.

Trying to build this: (pic 1) but it req a stable, but i have a modern stable(pic2), which is supposed to replace a stable and knight stable???

Also can someone please look why Narbona (Hero) is not showing up in the pedia?? It says its missing the TXT but there is no art, NOTHING????

You felt it was more important for the game to run faster than for that to operate correctly. So until a solution is found and implemented that achieves both, the fix for this very problem was removed (it WAS causing a very unusually strong delay but this was due to the enormous volume of times that prereq section is checked by the AI.) I think Alberts' proposed solution is probably best: Fix the XML so that the building you're trying to build has an OR building prereq of stable, Knight's Stable, and Modern Stable. Cleaner XML work can resolve the problem without slowdown.

:hmm: I just looked and i cant even find BUILDINGCLASS_STABLE in the buildingInfos file?? Did we move it or something????


OK i found the stable and stuff, but WHY are these in the modules area under Hydro??
 
Repeatable crash at start of turn (savegame attached). Last SVN. Happened in 4 days old SVN, updating didnt help.

Game crashes when unit selection comes to one of my 2 Generals.

p.s. Tried loading earlier saves and progress to see it error goes by itself, but game crashes at same turn.
 
using the latest svn as of today 5/12/14. Game frozed when I took over my first barbarian city. I have no clue why. I would hear the sound of the city being taken over but just then the screen froze. I alt tab to windows and a little message saying art info not found..? Any way to get this fix cause basically makes the game unplayable. :sad

Seems that problem is still there.

I just click next turn. Dont move units.

Units that are not on auto actions, like workers or fortified. I mean when you start turn, units are automatically selected for action, one by one, or by pressing enter. When units near right upper corner of my territory get selected, game crashes.

Yes, you should always reload and try again before reporting a bug. Some crashes are non-repeatable. They could be due to memory leaks etc. - which would not happen on a reload. If they do repeat then your save before the error plus the dump files help the modders find the problem. :)

When Hydro fixes stuff it ends up in his modules. I think it has something to do with the Laws of Gravety:mischief:

There is a known but very rare bug that does that. It mostly happens when taking a city. Clicking anywhere on the minimap fixes the problem. The problem has been around for many years but is so rare and is fixed by save and load so it is impossible to find.

Ok try now. I remove entire Neanderthal civ and looks that help for this problem

Thanks m8, but what should i do with archive? it has some unit related files inside.

Also, Neanderthal civ was one of my neighbours =) It border was in corner i mentioned above. One that caused crash.

Seems some graphic files related with neanderthal civ are broken.

p.s. what file/folder contains graphics for custom civs? ill try manually replace neanderthal one with another.

How far into this game are you? I have a Neander Neighbor in my game and I've had no trouble yet. I'm at 3340BC on Epic. Still in Ancient era but closing in fast on Classical. Although I am still on 7371 SVN build.

In fact this game I've actually been able to go for long periods without needing to save. Much improvement there.
