Single Player bugs and crashes v35 plus (SVN) - After the 18th of August 2014

The build up button appears, but the effect don't happen. When i reverse to 8199 all works fine.

The problem I had that I overcame was that the popup wouldn't come up when you select the buildup mission. Is that happening but once you've selected the buildup properly you aren't having any promotions being assigned in the next round?

(This problem was a result of the fact that I'd incorrectly assumed the popup would process before the code moves on and due to some added AI work it would trip up on things since the player had not already made a selection yet.)

There could still be some issues lurking here though... some funny stuff was happening in maintaining records of which buildups were denoted as available.

Ok, further investigation revealed the situation was much deeper than suspected. I've been able to not only fix it but correct some other things about it - units should just awaken and expect further orders now if the ignore button is pushed or no selection is made when the popup comes up, there was a problem with saves recalling the buildups that were valid and that's been fixed, along with a few bits of code to catch games corrupted by this problem up to speed (you may need to hit the buildup mission twice if the unit doesn't remember which buildup lines are valid which would be indicated by the popup not coming up.) I've also done some work to smooth out the rules on transitions between fortification, sleep, buildup, etc...

The next step after I commit this is to remove the other two new fortify style missions entirely and replace them with new buildups and to add a fortify buildup line. While I won't be removing fortify since there's an inherent simplicity in it for players, the fortify buildup line will give the same benefits AND will be valid for the AI to choose so that the AI is always choosing a buildup or going to sleep which will make it much easier for them to choose what they will be doing with buildups and will also make which type they've chosen much more visible to a player on a hoverover.

Should have all that done by the end of tomorrow.
 
The education its a little bugged, i need seven storytellers, with two levels of upgrade and one level of build up to have a neutral growth of education in a city of 10 population.

OK, i'm playing in deity, but its strange, its really unbalanced. I think the education need more incoming from buildings or resources. My save to verify.

You could get 500+ education per turn from animal buildings if your tech is between Writing and Education. Although most people probably wont build all 500+ story buildings in every city. Currently you can only get about 100 as I am still working my way through the animals. You have to have built the animal Myth buildings to build these buildings.

Thanks, but give a look in the save. I play deity, construct all education buildings and can't control the education of size 10 city even with 7 upgraded and build up storyteller. All my gold goes to pay the storytellers.

Looking at it, I think all your gold is going to supporting all those cities. To me it looks like you have expanded far to fast for your economy to keep up.
 
Keep getting a crash even after I updated. Keeps throwing out this error code:

Alberts, can you look at this save and check what is missing? Then post here missing art xml and I do the rest. Tnx.
 
I get a CTD everytime i try to finish the "sand paintings" building.

Even when i add the building through WB i still get a CTD whenever i get to whatever replaced sand paintings.

updated svn few hours ago to no change.

press enter to start building "sand paintings" to get the CTD.

Ok I found bug and fixed it in newest SVN.
There was problem with button of Papua Canibal unit - sand paintings was ok :)
Anyway sorry for waiting and have fun!
 
Camel resource don't works. The cities ignores my camel improvements in the map.
Might be you can see it but can't trade it yet. Will need more details.

Are you playing on Nightmare or normal Deity? At nightmare deity you should be drowning in undereducated fools. The only way would be to have a LOT of storytellers to support the growing population or you could always just slave hurry some of those idiots to condense the education influence onto a smaller population.

Nightmare Deity would be at about -60 education to counteract at 10 population. That's not a small amount - and if you're already in the positive on your education levels then it would make it even harder since the system would be handing you some decay trying to push things back down to 0 as well. The good news in that is that once you're in the negative it will equally try to push you up towards 0 as well.
