Single Player bugs and crashes v35 plus (SVN) - After the 18th of August 2014

I am trying to get the animals sorted for this version.

1) Fix birds so they only fly where appropriate. I had done this using the standard BtS tags that work for every other type of unit but doesn't for them. It is ignored:sad:. TB has come up with a different set of tags to use which should work.

2) convert all animals to the new Myth and Story system. Unfortunately I had converted a third and now need to redo them. I am about half way through those, then I can start on those I had not started at all.

3) new animals there are about 10 or so still to do.

4) convert the elemental and feature Myths to the new way - perhaps.

5) fix the post map script to replace inappropriate resources eg any kangaroo resources in the Americas gets replaced with deer, bison or llama.

As far as I am concerned we could go into the freeze after I complete 1 and leave the rest for later but it will look odd.

I have a recent SVN (8340+), and the Heals (Naval) promos are not available to any combat class. Is this still the case, and if so for how long? :)

If its done in python, try getting with "heck" I cant remember his name, the guy with all those darn python thingy's??

T-Brd did some work on the Heal promos. You should update to current SVN to see if you concern has been already addressed.

When selecting a unit and holding ALT to give a command to all units of that kind and choosing Build Up you get to select what build up to use for every unit separately.
Should that not be needing to click just once to select which build up to use for all those units rather than once per unit, especially considering that after the first click you have no idea WHICH of all those units it is you are selecting for.

I think it should work like doing ALT+fortify, or ALT+upgrade, that one choice is valid for all the units in question.

As far as I'm concerned I've been in freeze status for a while now and still plan to be for a while to come as there's a rather large load of things to address and a rather small amount of time to address them. Working 11-13 hrs a day takes a lot out of ya.

It would be nice to set that up but my comprehension of the code that does this elsewhere is somewhat weak. It's actually very complex with many moving parts and I'm not sure I've even located all those parts. I'll look into this at some point as an intended improvement.

p.s. Thanks Joseph - i tried your settings marathon/huge instead of eternity/gigantic i was playing last couple of years and it seems to be much more playable with those =) I even got to industrial era in considerable amount of time.

Alberts2... do you have any idea what this indicates and how it may have been brought about? This happens on loading the mod and I've not seen it before. With my scant experience in the portion of code it comes from I'd guess it has something to do with badly formatted xml somewhere. Not sure how to figure out where though.

Most likely suspect, therefore, is an art issue. Alberts2 knows how to find art problems. I'm still unsure of how he does this. Note that the problem has nothing to do with the extra civ pack as I loaded and played the round without it and still ran into this. The last assert before this was a bit odd though, something about the city having added too many specialists somehow. I didn't investigate that and don't think it has bearing on the crash but I suppose it could. I'd ask for the art to be evaluated first.
 
Alberts if you got art bug Ill fix it ASAP. Just tell me which one art file casuing problem.

Miss type on the unit name in the unit type in Galapagospenguin_Subdued_CIV4UnitInfos.XML in the folder Modules/Animals/Ecological_Animals/Birds/Penguins

It is <Type>UNIT_GALAPAGOS_SUBDUED_PENGUIN</Type> but should be <Type>UNIT_SUBDUED_GALAPAGOS_PENGUIN</Type>.

Can someone change this because I am away from my modding computer.

Maybe it is because I am on 32 bit XP.

I will wait for a few more updates to the SVN, that sometime clears CTDs.
