Single Player bugs and crashes v35 plus (SVN) - After the 18th of August 2014

Had this error too and it was fixed in 8396.

not with the latest SVN I updated as I said and its STILL there . . .

must have been a glitch I deleted all the assets and replaced with NEW ones, in the SVN and now it works, sorry. . .

8396 SVN (just updated) - crash is still here. Anyone had a chance to take a look at it?

I did. It was a divide by zero error in the exe. I suspect an art issue but it could be a mysterious coding issue that somehow leads to an unexpected potential for a value to be 0. Unfortunately, being in the exe, I can't track it down very well. Alberts2 may be able to but I haven't seen him in a bit here. Both of us are taking some rather serious downtime to patiently address some AI issues while struggling with some real world delays and focus drains.

EDIT: you know... a minidump MIGHT actually be helpful here provided it's on the most recent code that you catch the crash and resulting minidump.

Is it 'working as intended' that mountain mines don't provide the vicinity bonus for their resources to cities? For example, I have a mountain mine with a coal resource and I get the coal listed in the cities resources but it does not allow building a Coal Mine or Steampunk in the city in the vicinity of the mountain mine.

8400: Throughout my game, I haven't been able to start any corporations.

For example, I've double and triple checked the requirements for Mining Inc, I have all the required techs, the great engineer, the required resources (all of them, even though only 1 is needed), city of a sufficient population, no civics active that have the "corporations have no effect" effect, confirmed skyscraper building built in the city...

Should I provide a savegame?

Edit: Just an unrelated question, maybe I'm daft for asking this, but if I have the mastery victory condition enabled, do any of the other victory conditions matter (like domination)? I started the game with all victory conditions enabled.

Edit: I uploaded a savegame. There's a great engineer at Uruk and he should be able to found Mining Inc., but he can't.

Check if Realistic Corporations game option is active, it usually is per default. If it is, then corporations will be auto founded a while after conditions are met and sometimes it can feel rather random.

Captive-Military does not get targeted by hostile units anymore, escorts are now no longer needed for them. suspected it for a while now, it seems to be an AI thing as I myself can attack enemy captives. it seems wrong to me that captives can safely pass hordes of barbarians and predators without escorts.

PS: TXT error in warfare tech, under the quote.

Oh, concider my issue solved then. I'll disable the option in my next game.

With Mastery on you have to win with all the other conditions, so they do matter. They just don't end the game.

@TB, Alberts et al It seems that we are starting to have trouble with the Art Defines for buildings getting to many files or to big. I am getting a error message saying that it can't find an existing one when I add in some new ones.

I am going to see if the fix we did for Movies works for these also. First I need to move all the XML files into one then load it last with the movies.

edit it (building art not found) is failing only when I add in some more movie art definitions:confused::crazyeye:

Ill try to check again units art files in weekend. Maybe its problem here.

I checked it while ago but im pretty sure (99%) its not a problem with the units. I changed all art styles from ethnics to default european and still bug crash the game :/

Maybe a great person, but quite ugly for a woman
Anyways.... SVN build 8396. She is Prophet, just like intended.

Could it be a problem with a specific file?

We had problems with the movie file way back in the RoM days. Afforess hunted but could not find the source of the problem but came up with fix we use which is to load it last.

The weirdness is that adding movie art defines, and that was all I was adding, made the building art defines to break. Remove the movie defines and the game plays fine. Add them in and the game crashes with one of two buildings missing their art definition.
