Repeatable CTD with SVN 9075 ( 9074 works well )

- New Game
- Era Prehistoric
- Turn 425

I notice that CTD come at the time of having the first specialist.

Of course it could just be my PC not being to handle it anymore... could someone please try to reproduce and look at it?

WARNING:

All saves made from versions of SVN Prior to 9084 are now Incompatible if Updated to SVN 9099 0r 9100.

I'm having a new CTD. When I finish the turn, the new one starts and I hear the sound of a few events (no message), then CTD.
Nothing obvious (i'm not a war, no new tech on this turn,...). I updated to the last Rev and it still crashes.
Of course it could just be my PC not being to handle it anymore... could someone please try to reproduce and look at it?

I haven't updated yet so I can still take a look. There's a strong likelihood its a problem with a unit graphic so turn off your animations and see how it goes in the meantime. The problem really is going to be that if it's in the code and I fix it, I'll then have to update the fix to the SVN which has broken all saves (unless Toffer can figure out a way to revert the changes that did this and save them for a day that's coming when we can all break save compatibility in unison.) This will effectively mean its basically impossible to get the fix to that game.

"Something is afoot!" I was awarded a great spy, Sherlock Holmes, early in a new game using version 9100 and the text beside the great spy image just said "txt_key_great_person_sherlock_holmes_pedia"

This looks correct in the SVN xml files... Except for the incorrect spelling.

Thanks, I searched the forum but couldn't find where to turn off animations. The only thing I could find in the game was "ctrl+o\graphics\animations frozen". Is that it?
I checked the box but that didn't seem to help.
I can also revert back to an older version since the new one is not compatible.

That was it but I think we're beyond any ability to work out a fix here at this point. Sad but true. Not a normal situation but apparently our moving into breaking old saves now means that there's really nothing I can do to help with this.

It is the Great Detective stuff. They are getting a GDetective (Sleuth?) not a Spy. I did it in a hurry, as mentioned. I just copied the background and image of the Great Spy for the Great Detective and each of the currently listed detectives, all are fictional at the moment and I did not do the pedia .

It wont be that screen that is causing the problem but the definition of the Great Detective unit.

I have a migraine at the moment and can hardly see the screen so if someone else can look at it that would be good.

Try looking in the xml/units folder unit infos file for the definition of the Great Detective and find the art define used. Then look in the xml/art folder at the unit defines and see if it is correct.

there are NO portraits for the Great Detectives listed,
