Single Player bugs and crashes v40 plus (SVN) - After Oct 2019

The Nanite Defuser "wonder" deletes all nukes belonging to all players. That is total BS:mad:! Since there is no reference to that effect in its xml, I had to delete it completely.

Where do these ridiculous ideas come from, and why don't they get vetoed or reverted?
This could be here since Rise of Mankind.

Also nukes are removed only once.

By the way how balancing of civics is going?
Slowly. I've not spent much time on them this Holiday season. I also had a health issue that slowed down any computer time. As well as some home repairs.

In 1 month I turn 68. But life does not slow down no matter your age. ;)

Being that it's only a one time event, I like it. But it's not explaining itself very well in the XML?

We haven't been seeing these later eras so much as we are lately so things like this haven't been experienced by many.

I guess help tooltip could be added to it.

EDIT:
There is help tooltip here.

ok, i went back to previous save and it worked,

now can we do something about ALL these units that can be built on Earth but really r useless unless on a space map?? look at what the enemies r building, and cant use, and tons of them??pic1

also what can be done about all those purple squares on the map , i have taken over 99% of those except that one tiny island of purple, the enemy, i need to build on but cant???

Yes they are useless on Earth.
AI just sees them as workers and is too dumb to realize, that they can build improvements in space only.

Ironically they don't build space shuttles/heavy rockets - they are first step of space colonization.
Those units can build Space Station improvement (and upgrade it) on Orbit terrain.
Space Station level III can be used to upgrade heavy rockets to various space settlers (Cislunar space, Moon and probably entire solar system).
To settle on Moon you need improvement - Lunar Base or its upgrades, buildable by Construction Ship (there is similarly named unit that is sea worker) on Earth.
Once you build city on Lunar Base/its upgrade you can send 4 Supply Ships to build 4 buildings in them.
That is early space colonization involves use of four different units.

After months (game decades or centuries) of literally every UN resolution reporting "failed with 0 votes", despite the fact that I voted for it, it only now occurred to me that "defy resolution" should not be acting as a veto (which is what I assumed was happening) - they are two very different things.

Stone tools and tablets makers appeared in production list after last svn up. Industrial era, "Steel" tech just researched.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of that change.
It was reported that a bonus was unavailable when it shouldn't be, so a certain someone on this team made sure that no resource would ever become unavailable after it first became available.

Stone tools should only be a significant resource in the prehistoric and early ancient era, after that it will still exist to one degree or another but it has then reached a point where it's a given that they have stone tools and it shouldn't be listed as a bonus in the city screen bonus list any longer and shouldn't affect any stats from any buildings any more. e.g. museums built in later eras can be assumed to be filled to the brink with stone tools even though your nation no longer list it as a significant resource that this nation has that other nations might not have and will crave to have one way or another if they don't..

At this point there is no need in outdating units (slinger, for example, or stone thrower or raft) just because I might want to sell them to some neanderthal neighbors in my XIX century.

Well, at least, it's not a bug) Thanks for reply.

I'm only in the third column of Transhuman, and I've finished my (Sid Meier's) Alpha Centauri (obsession) ship. Why doesn't interstellar travel require Interstellar Travel:confused:?

Then I launched it, and now it says "160 Turns to Victory" on my main screen, despite the fact this is a mastery victory game (mastery victory btw gives everyone the points for launching the ship in early Information era - I guess where it was in vanilla).

This is probably not a bug, but some reason when I made to nanotech era the sound for victorious combat changed. Not a good change either, it is this annoying horn sound. Every turn 2 or 3 of those is killing my patience and head. I don't know the name of the sound so I can't fix it myself.

Some sounds are tied to eras - most common its in leaderheadinfos.

Different sounds (late variant) are played in Atomic and later eras though.

It may be AS2D_VICTORY_LATE in audio2Dscripts.xml - change volume to 0 to not hear it.

My Subdued Donkey cannot perform Domesticated animal can place resource on the map. However, Subdued Horse can.
Upload save.
It can have misleading tooltip though.
By the way nothing can place resource on map, if that tile already has resource on it.

EDIT: Subdued donkey never got ability to place resource unlike subdued horse.

Thank you.

Not Victory Late.

Well you can launch it in Early Transhuman (parts now are spread over Information - Transhuman era).
So it looks like all parts should be unlockable in Transhuman era except one in Galactic at Interstellar Colonization.

Also that "turns to victory" text always shows if you launch starship - no one disabled it for mastery victory.
It was like that for decade lol.

You can treat it more like interstellar version of Apollo Program:
You sent humans to Moon in Atomic era, but actual lunar research bases are buildable on Moon (Lunar Base improvements and its upgrades) in late Information Era.
Lunar cities are unlocked at early Nanotech era.

Similarly this starship is more like of experimental space station (scouting or making research base), that you can build and send to stars - its MUCH smaller than those seedships used to colonize stars.
