Single Player bugs and crashes v43 plus (SVN) - After January 2023

I have run into to a “Infinite Running Man” incident in the Atomic age.

I play the Steam version and have updated the SVN to v44.BETA.8480 (11638), but that didn’t solve it.

When you end the turn, it gets to “Waiting for player 10”, and nothing more happens. The menus are still reacting and the map still have movement, although with a very low frame rate.

I'm curious. What map is this?
It's a space map I made from a Smart Map (I think that was what it was called.) Pangaea. Extra rivers, extra resources. Low sea level. Lots of lakes. I think I made it about over two years ago, so I don't recall much more about it than that. I must say Snofru is a far more patient man than I am. Copying and pasting the data for the space tiles was tiresome; I don't think I could ever finish creating all that data from scratch.

Which is why I use the map that has Space on the RIGHT from Earth (forgot how it's named, may be more than one).
Then you can literally make a Random map with the same dimensions as the Earth part (just use a correct script to input the sizes).
And then you merely only need to replace (one copy-paste action) the Earth chunk from the original map with the Earth chunk from the Random map - and save it under a new name.
It's like 5-10 minutes of work at worst, lol.

Well damn. Why didn't Somebody tell me about this sooner? :) Thanks for the tip, Somebody613. Oh my, oh my.

exactly the same here, but then in ancient era already. I am stuck on player 50 with an "infinite running man" reloading and doing some things differently may get me a few turns further but then it happens again (wating on a player xx and infinite running man)

And same here but I have been able to get to near the end of the "Galactic Lifestyle" era in one of Snofru's space maps (see the attached save game - load and hit 'next turn'). I sure would hate to lose this game after putting so much time into it. ;)

Just roll back a few autosaves, no?
If it persists even then - it's really a very big bug.

Ah, you replied too quickly! I just discovered exactly what you mentioned - I went back one turn and now it gets through that infinite loop. But what causes the loop in the first place?

Because i tested it. When in wb i deleted units, which ai may want to move to the city, loop was removed. The same result was, when i deleted the city itself. I not sure for 100%, but this can be something with fly units.

Yeah, this is my post about this bug. Air units involved. https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...ussions-thread.377892/page-1128#post-16631428
"Why" is a "mechanic" question, as in, why would it cause a loop and not a freeze or a crash? What's there to loop specifically?

I don't know. I haven't seen the code and don't know its logic. And to be honest, i have neither the time, nor the energy, to understand such a large code.

We Do Not support using more than 48 players of All kinds in this Mod.

Hello, why I don´t get any culture points from my settled slaves when I have +1 culture points ? I should get 10 culture points in my capital city ? And why spawn in this world so few barbarian cities ? I have to build rafts so I can destroy the last barbarian cities, but for 300 turns or more there are no more barbarian cities spawning and I have settled barbarian world and aggresive barbarians.

50 player is barbarians or one of animals.
Unless it has been changed in coding over the past 2 years Player 49 & 50 were supposed to be left empty. As Somebody stated 39 AI plus Human Player for 40 Playable Civs. Then Barbs, Neanderthals, animals, aliens , insects, etc up NPC 48. 41-43 have been main NPCs for past 12 years or so. 44-48 Reserved (aliens, insects, etc.)
