OOC: I believe so. From what I gathered from the timeline Spain was as it was in our timeline up until the "Age of Revolutions", when Aragon-Sicily split off from the Spanish Republic.

Yeah. There was a civil war in the early 19th century, between an absolutist and a pro-democracy factions, and in the end a treaty was signed, separating Spain between a Republican Spain and an absolutist Aragon, which eventually inherited Sicily or something like that.
