Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V

If it gets me something neat, I'll trudge through them. Besides, I got level my Lockpicking too. And those quests don't involve going into a dungeon/cave/underground area.

I just found this in my journey in YouTubeland

"To celebrate the opening of the Steam Workshop for Skyrim, Valve and Bethesda have teamed up to bring you the Portal 2 Space Core mod, which will let the aggressively space-centric little robot tag along on your adventures in Tamriel." - Description

"No dragons, just space" - The Space Core

Are any of you using the mod houses?

So yeah I stole a bunch of rabbit, pheasant, and other hangy things from an inn (as well as a few trinkets), so the cook got 3 hired thugs to "beat me up," and by that I mean "kill me repeatedly because I was level 4 and they're way higher."

So naturally I just camped a rock and threw fire, frost, and arrows at them like a wuss.

Gonna make a note of that for future playthroughs.

Yes, the thugs can be a problem.
I think the note is signed by the first person you steal from 8or a relative if you kill the person).

When my klepro-cat got attacked by them, the note was signed 'whiterun guard', a nameless dude I pickpocketed an imperial bow from .

In my recent game, I'm pretty sure the note was signed by the 5 years old daughter of a woman who owns a shop in Solitude. The next time I tried to check to make sure I wasn't dreaming, the note seemed kind of bug, I could go to page 2 for some reason (and see the signature again).

I guess I'll just not steal from anyone until I'm at least level 10 next playthrough. :p

Do they respawn though? Both wikis are somewhat vague on the issue. I doubt they'd be a problem now, I'd have Lydia and better gear the next time around. In fact, I'd welcome it. I'm somewhat short on funds right now, y'see...

At a certain point, the Dark Brotherhood will try to kill you.

Have any of you saved Dawnstar from the nightmare quest yet?
If you haven't, don't kill Erandur for the Daedric artifact, it's not worth it. I killed him and played with it awhile. I realised I had little used for it and I felt quite bad for killing him, so I reloaded. For the next couple of levels, he proved incredibly useful in helping me take down a couple of dragons, one dragon priest.

They tried that with me in Morrowind a lot.

It didn't work.

I let him live. I very rarely do as the Daedra say, as mostly they want to see people suffer as much as possible. Where I can, I go against what they tell me to do.

I killed him, found the object useless, reloaded and let him live, but he was killed by an Orc on our way out. :(

I usually will do whatever it takes for loot, regardless of what the daedra say.

The hired thugs stop coming after you after a while. I think it's 2 or 3 tries. The Dark Brotherhood also takes a few cracks at you, but I joined them so I don't know if they continue.

Has anyone seen the Headless Horseman??? I tried following him but I lost him.

I haven't seen the thugs a second time since leaving Riverwood, which is where they first appeared. Since then I screwed around in the wilderness for a day or two, got to Whiterun, screwed around the farms for another day, and then got inside and did quests and such, including fighting Numinex, for at least a week.

My thoughts on health and stamina potions:
"Why do I need something that heals 50 health when I have 20 pounds of fo... oh." Damn you Bethesda, for making so many cooked food items I'll never use because I'm a hoarder and would rather just eat whatever's at the top of the inventory to scroll down to one of my stews! And stamina? I don't use friggin' stamina, so that only makes it worse: "I shouldn't eat my Apple Cabbage Stew, I haven't lost any stamina." Oh if only there were a food that recovered magicka... and wasn't made from ridiculously expensive moon sugar...

Anyway, I've still yet to figure out how to melee with staffs. Beth said I could, I've read about it on Kotaku a few times, and there's even a melee stat for some of them (in particular Wabbajak, also known as the best anything ever), but I still dunno hot to melee with one. I wanna fight like Gandalf, dammit!

I use it because I'm too lazy to do alchemy. It takes me a good 5 minutes to brew a potion out of unidentified ingredients. Sure, basic potions are easy, but I feel like I'm wasting inventory space if I just make a potion with only 1 effect, which takes up even more time.

In theory, anyway. I should probably just turn up the difficulty. That way I'll actually use my friggin' food. So far, I've only used it about 3 times - 2 bandit bosses and a wounded mammoth (two saber cats had taken off a good third of its health). Maybe against a dragon, I dunno.

I think I used food a whole lot more in Fable 2.

Cooking is a bit of a needless gimmick, but it's probably just there to add some sort of realism to the game rather than being of any serious use, hence why there isn't a "cooking skill". :crazyeye:
I did like how you'd be able to brew potions from any sort of consumables in Oblivion though.

I've seen him twice. Once he rode passed me while I was trying to soul trap mammoths, the second time, he just stood in front of this ruin and did nothing. I tried attacking him but it doesn't hit.

At a certain point, you do so much looting that you keep helping yourselves to healing and stamina potion rather than food or making potions.

The healing skill is useful at times too.
