Snakes & Foxes 3: The ****oo's Nest (Game Thread)

OOC: It seems unfair to me to give points for the first people to vote for the loser of a fight, what with time zones and all. It's impossible for me to post, except for weekends, before midnight GMT, so my chances of getting this bonus are almost nothing.

IC: The Frost Speaker vs. the Overlord Speaker. Who has the power of a true god behind their words? Let us find out. 75 gold on my good teammate, the Archmage

"On behalf of Team 1, I hereby declare our team name to be The Pack."

"They say that Fire an' Entropy share a hell nowadays, what with the fall of the fire goddess. So why don't we have the Ritualist fight the Firebow and see for ourselves. Ain't gonna place bets yet, I need sum' thinking time for that."

{ OOC: While you have a point, there are workarounds, you don't have to vote for someone that someone else has voted for already.... In fact, that's the whole point of it in the first place, as a mechanic to counter bandwagons. So you'll just have to convince people to vote for your alternative instead of just following the crowd. :mischief: }

Centaur V Minotaur

The Druid is disapointed the rest of the fighters covet his gold, shame they don't have the cojones to place a decent bet.

I, the Centaur will gladly stomp the Druid with my might; however I am displeased that you are calling me a mere pony; if I fall, I have shown my valor in this fight. My hooves will stand on his feet.

I will bet 45 Gold on the Devout; I believe that he is deservedly the prover of the powers against a master of magic; I have high hopes for him.

(Disclaimer: I don't know any FFH background, not knowing whether my Centaur is a forest or steppe centaur, and don't know his culture or personality, I've tried with what I know of him.)

{ OOC: Please don't edit posts, especially not half an hour after they were first made. If I've already read the post before the edit, chances are I won't see what you did. If you have something more to say, please write a new post with it. This time I did spot it, scherbchen. }

sowwy :blush:

((OOC: So, there is gonna be anoyher update before the battle between the Arch Mage Nd the Devote right?))

{ OOC: Love is correct, there will be a short midday update in ~8.5 hours, just a recounting of votes and betting odds, and then the evening battle is 24 hours after that. }

"The druid shouldn't be such a naïve guy. Of course we covet his gold. The Harlequin came to this contest to make a naughty amount of gold, why not start early? Prove your 'cojones' in the ring, Druid.

Oh and will someone assist the Harlequin to play 'the pack's themesong? He needs someone on flute to accompany his wonderful voice and beautiful lyre?"

"flute? look no further!"

Spoiler :

"Brilliant, Scherbie! ... Can the Harlequin call you that, by the way?"

Obviously not interested in any answer, the Harlequin finds his lyre again and starts clasping strings, humming:

"See their teeth and see their fangs,
See the sparks when their weapons clang,
It'll be the last you see before things turn black,
cower in fear, for here comes the pack!

Merciless as Agares' blight,
Beautiful as Brigid the Bright,
Allow this little chance to brag;
No-one withstands the might of the pack!"

The Harlequin gaggles and quickly replies the druid: "You mark the Harlequin? Looks like he is a good guesser, huh?", before turning to the satyr and attempts to figure out how to play the tune on the flute.

Beastmaster versus the Ogre would make for an interesting fight... but tonight, my money is on the Devout (100 g)

Overlord Speaker, don't ye be thinkin' all you have t' do is show up once in a while wi' some puny excuse for not talkin' an' yer off the hook. But I won' reel you in today.

Vote change to Druid. I can't overlook the thing ye said before ye thought better of yer wording. You an' yer gold are on yer own.

If you die innocent, you 'ave my finest apologies.

The Pirate sweeps his grubby bandanna from his head and sweeps the Druid an ironic bow.

Hmm that was an interesting fight (OOC : Love your style LF, keep it up).

Too bad I lost money on it, but still it was interesting.

And you know what would be interesting too ? Myself slaying a Minautor.

OOC: A Minautor? :p

The minotaur throws a further 70 gold on the table for a total of 90 Gold on the Archmage.
