Snakes & Foxes 3: The ****oo's Nest (Game Thread)

The Lizardman to fight the Shaman I say!

As I've said before, would be nice to see the Firebow in the arena with the Frostspeaker. I'll also bet a gold on our team leader.

"Again the word of Jehovah came to me, saying," - Ezekiel 12:26

Frost Speaker vs. the Firebow

I'd like to place a bet of 200 Gold on the Mercenary.

{OOC: I saw you catched the Minotaur-typo yourself, but I noticed these two aswell, the first sentance implies that the druid follows himself, the other is meant to be blow, I believe.

Oh, and nice update! Close fight, this time!}

OOC: {Oops, my bad.

I also messed up here: "The bolt arced towards the sword and hit it, and the Knight got up, picked his shield up, ran toward the Druid, bent his knees and brought his sword down, and stood up and smashed the Druid, all in one smooth motion."

Really should be bashing him with his shield. }

It seems some people want me to fight. I'll gladly fight. Give me the overlord speaker.

I see no reason in not allowing the Firebow (Stuck in Pi) Fight the Overlord Speaker

I say kill the inactives. Izipo the Dragon Slayer has a whooping total of two posts in this thread, less than all of us but Ronin who died the first day.

It seems anoter of my allies wish to do battle. How can I stop him from wetting his blade upon whatever the Frost Speaker uses for blood?
Firebow vs Frost Speaker!

Courtesan against Dragonslayer. Only way th' pair of 'em will provide us any amusement is t' fight each other. An' neither of 'em is on me team.

Though I know you wish to do battle Stuck in Pi, as it has been pointed out there are mutes among us that should be exterminated. So I say let me kill the DragonSlayer! Adding his skull to the pile would be a great addition to my collection.

At hearing his name announced to fight the Mercenary, the Luonnotar shows no sign of surprise. Briefly, he looks over at his soon-to-be foe, then nods once and goes back to brooding. As the time to go into isolation approaches, he stands, and addresses the crowd, and the Mercenary among them.

"So, it seems I am called upon to fight. You shall not be disappointed. It has been long since I have drawn blood in combat, and longer still since it has been drawn from me, but I predict that I will soon experience both again. So, Mercenary... Let us see where your faith in gold gets you.

"Gold and silver are useful tools for the prudent, but to live one's life in pursuit of them is folly. When you measure your own worth in gold, you are using a measuring stick that changes length based on the whims of those you deal with. You cannot drink gold in the heat of the desert, nor breathe it in a capsized ship. Armor made of gold will weigh you down and fail before the dullest blade, and its wearer will surely die. You, Mercenary, are worse even than those who follow so-called gods, flawed though they are. That shall be your demise.

"Now, to the matter of voting. Let the challenger have his battle, foolish though he is to risk himself against my countryman. Let the Eidolon fight the Dragon Slayer."

Midday, Day 4

The fourth day was surprisingly narrow in scope where voting was concerned. Unlike the previous days, when typically more than half the contestants had one vote or more, and generally only two or three had more than two votes, this day saw the votes concentrated on a select few unlucky souls. Sure, only thirteen contestants had voted as of midday, but there were still no less than five contestants with at least four votes to their name. The Firebow had a lead that was none too comforting (or uncomforting as it may be), and below him the Frost Speaker narrowly edged out the Dragonslayer due to having more votes from team leaders.

The betting on the other hand... well, there was no betting to speak of, since only one single (large!) bet had been placed, on the Mercenary. No odds (other than the uselessly abstract concept of infinity) could be derived from that bet, and some in the audience speculated that the other contestants didn't want to bet until after the two combatants had been moved into isolation, so as not to have to face the dark looks from the one they bet against. But everyone agreed that there would be more bets during the evening. After all, there could be only one winner of the tournament, and the key to winning was to bet.

Current betting odds: Luonnotar vs Mercenary: N/A
