Snakes & Foxes 3: The ****oo's Nest (Game Thread)

Ritualist against th' Paladin, no? Let's not pussyfoot around 'ere, me lads, we all know why we want 'im gone. Me friends the Disciples excepted, that is. The Pirate bows ironically to the members of that team. 'ow about we match 'im w' someone who might win this time, eh?

I'll bet 113 gold on the Raider

I would also like to see the Paladin take on the Ritualist

Almos' fergot! 1 gold on th' Raider.

{ OOC: I'm sorry, but I cannot post an update since I haven't received any text from LightFang. I have been busy all day and didn't think to look until now. He has not been online for the past 36 hours, I hope he will come around soon. If he doesn't, I'll see what I can do about getting the text finished through other means, but in that case it will not be until tomorrow. Again, apologies. }

{ OOC: Sorry, the deadline has passed regardless of whether the update is up or not. Winston's bet will not be counted. }

(OOC: I can try to write something, Niklas, if you send me the info. It'll probably be done like 18 hours from now, though, as I am on my way to bed and have an exam tomorrow. Still, better than nothing, I guess.)

{ OOC: Thanks a lot DE! I have actually received the update text from DE already, but I really haven't had time to fix all the other stuff that goes with the update. And since we're already way past normal update time, I will put this up tomorrow instead. But now at least I can safely say it will go up tomorrow. :) }

(OOC: No problem. I have nothing against writing the update text as long as you don't kill me off early in the next game on purpose (providing you host it, ofc), to enlist my services :p)

Evening, Day 8

Another day had passed, and not many would actually note it, but something was different. The narrator had mysteriously disappeared, and another had to be hastily called in his stead. Time had to pause on the evening of the eighth day, but was subsequently restarted again on the evening of the eighth day.

The evening fight would see two reappearances in the arena. The Shaman took the arena first, again having the advantage of fighting in surroundings of his choice. The audience wondered whether the fact that he had seen the raider fight once already would affect the choice of arena, or if the Shaman would stick with his old surroundings once more.

Those speculations were ended as the Raider entered the scene, his leather armour, dark skin and past victory having given him a small crowd of fans. Girl cheers were clearly heard as he pulled forth his curved blade from its scabbard and prepared to face the Shaman.

The arena shaped itself around them, and soon the contestants found themselves in a small, tranquil grove. The Shaman was standing on a small hill, where several large stones with ritual carvings surrounded him. The Raider found himself on the outside of the grove, the path between him and the druid crossed by a river. The round stones on the bottom of it and the strong stream made sure that it would not be passed easily.

The Shaman did not talk this time. He started chanting, and the loud howl of wolves was heard. The Raider wasted no time, but sent arrows flying towards the Shaman as he neared the river. The arrows were sent with haste, and only one of them had the right direction. The Shaman ignored the minor would it caused as it lodged itself loosely in his leg. Two wolves had by now found their way to his side. With a hand gesture, he sent them towards the raider, who had almost reached the river.

He quickly dispatched of one of the wolves, but the other one caught him in the ankle with its fangs, stopping him dead in his run towards the Shaman. The Raider growled in pain before shaking off the wolf and kicking it with his other foot, sending it unconscious to the ground.

He turned around just in time to notice the fireball flying towards him, and dived into the river, quickly camouflaging himself in the water. The audience heard the hiss as the flames of the fireball hit the surface and dissipated. They watched in excitement as the Raider crawled along the bottom of the river, nearing the place where the Shaman stood.

The tension tendoubled when the Shaman sent a thunderbolt towards the water. The raider bit his teeth together in pain as the power of the bolt spread along the water, but then quickly recovered and ran the last few meters to the Shaman, catching him by surprise. His sword left a large wound down the chest of the Shaman, and he lifted his sword again with a smile, sure of victory.

The crowd gaped as a jolt of pain shook the Raider's body. One of his old wounds sprung up, and the pain numbed his right arm. The sword fell harmlessly to the ground, and the Shaman seized the moment, sending a last, weak fireball close-range into the chest of the Raider.

As the arena normalized itself, the officials neared and dragged away the smoking remains of the Raider, and others tended to the severely wounded Shaman.

{ OOC: An announcement from your lovable GM:

Unfortunately Ekolite has PMed me to say that he will not have time to continue the game. Luckily one of his team members just died, and is not in any way spoilered. I have asked CCRunner to take over and play the Luridus, and he gladly accepted.

CCRunner is dead - long live CCRunner! :p }

You know what I think would be fair? Adding my own points as the raider to my own points now to come up with my grand total :p

50 gold on Paladin

OOC: { Hi guys, sorry for the delay! My computer has currently crapped out on me so unfortunately I won't be able to send updates for a while. My apologies, Nicky, I am, at the heart, an incredibly unreliable and useless person. :( }

{ OOC: No worries LF, hope it works out for you.

The midnight update is in the works, coming shortly. }

Midnight, Day 8

It seemed as if the contestants had settled into a predictable pattern. Partying all night, hopefully remembering to cast a bet before the morning fight. Then casting soem quick accusation after the bloodshed was over, then stumbling to bed and sleeping away most of the day, only waking up in time to possibly cast a bet for the evening fight that marked the beginning of the party. At least that's a pattern one might be led to believe when watching the vote and bet statistics.

This night was no exception, and the matter was further complicated by the fact that the contestants had pretty much decided that the Paladin should kill the Ritualist. That's what they had voted should happen after all, even the Paladin himself. The only two bets cast so far were thus predictably on the Paladin. The Ritualist didn't seem all that bothered though, when led towards isolation, and he sure didn't care what the other contestants had "decided".

Current betting odds: Paladin vs Ritualist: N/A

Just over 23 hours until morning post.
Combatants, send in your battle ideas to Diamondeye!
