Something you've always wanted to do

Own a racehorse
Write a good song
Surf Waimea Bay and Pipeline (courage, not the ability to get there, holds me back)
Score a century in backyard cricket
Get another German Shepherd
Spend a year in the USA
Bed a Russian
Not work

I always wanted to parachute at some point.
Haven't done it yet, mainly due to the lack of money.
But I really want to. Must be amazing just to fall down and see the earth comming closer.

I always liked parachuting, although at my size with two hundred pounds of kit you do tend to hit the ground rather harder than most people!

I've always wanted to take the Orient Express to Istanbul, sail up to St. Petersburg, then take the Trans-Siberian Express across Russia to Vladivostok.

While this seems to be interesting at first glance, I'm not sure if it really is. Because at the end you just spend lots of time looking out of the window.
A trecking trip through some smaller countries might be more interesting (...okay, but sure more stressing).

:D
But did not really intend to parachute in a combat area, so I'm not worried about that :D.

Drat, misread that. Okay, well I've always wanted to visit the mother country. Hope to do it before I die.
I guess that would be one thing I'd want to do. I'd also want to visit Ireland and Scotland. I've always liked those places for some reason.

If I visited England, then I'd also want to visit Germany too, as well as the battlefield where my great-grandfather was captured by the French in WWI. (The name of it escapes me, but it was a well-known battle.)

Moderator Action: Moved to chamber

Thanks a ton, Glasses Man. :D

Something else I've always wanted to do: build a car from the ground up. Unfortunately, this is even less likely.

When I was a kid, when I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a dinosaur, I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than anything in the world, I made my arms short and I roamed the back yard, I chased the neighborhood cats, I growled and I roared, everybody knew me and was afraid of me, and one day my dad said "Bobby you are 17, it's time to throw childish things aside" and I said "OK Pop", but he didn't really say that he said that "Stop being a ******* dinosaur and get a job".

More seriously, I've got this vague ambition to visit every provincial capital in Spain on a motorcycle.

I did make a few paraglider jumps (even wanted to make the permit, but both time and money were too few at that time). It was rather great. But always wanted to make a 'real' parachute jump as well :)

God, how much time and money would need the permit?
And why!?!

Helicopter license, or at least some hours with one would also be interesting.
But I guess here the money will be even a bigger problem :D .
In a more realistic way, I'll maybe try again to make the driving license for a motorbike, but that's not *that* exciting.

I want to move somewhere foreign. I don't think I care where, as long as it's different (so nowhere in the Western Anglosphere). Right now I want to move to France! But a month ago I wanted to move to Japan ... and a month before that China.

I want to teach children to speak English in a foreign place.

I always wanted to be Voltron!

I'm another one for sky diving.

Also, donating blood. It's one of those things I really should be doing, but just haven't gotten around to it.

I suggest you consider Indonesia. 250,000,000 generally friendly people, 10,000 odd islands, great food, great surf and a stones throw from Oz. You can come and say hi

well that was nearly 15 years ago, so I'm not so sure anymore :ack: but I think that at least 100 jumps were necessary and since I don't live in the mountain part of the country, I couldn't just go and make a few jumps after work :)

but the feeling of gliding alone is great :)
