Start in Attica and Boeotia, pls, since no one else is in Greece.

I'm very tempted to choose Corsidinia, however, I wont. Also, I guess I'm about to make the Western Med more crowded...

The Jamahiriyan Kingdom of the Algerian Berbers (for short Algeria)

Nation Background: The Berbers have inhabited the lands stretching from Western Sahara to Lybia for millenia. As time progressed they adopted techiques such as farming, metal working, horse back riding, and perhaps most importantly sailing. With these techniques in hand they created several properous city states stretching across the Mahgreb and beyond. One of these city states was Algiers, which had grown to have great wealth from trade and, at times, piracy. It was around Algiers that several of the Berber city states joined together, one of the most important being Oran. The Jamahiriyan Kingdom of the Algerian Berbers was born. An advanced system of governance combined with a rich cultural heritage, a seafaring and trading society, and military prowess both on and off horses, gives great hope to the Berbers' future.

Jamahiryan Monarchy: Based on old Berber customs, the government is constructed around both monarchial and 'republican' traditions. There is a monarch who rules the kingdom, but his reign is not inherited naturally. He (or she, as the Berbers are both patriarchal and matriarchal) is chosen through a hierarchal series of People's Councils, each People's Council electing a royal candidate from one of the ex-city states' or nomadic tribes' royal families. As the election proceeds up through the hierarchy, the field of cadidates narrowed. The highest People's Council then chooses the new monarch from the remaining candidates, terms are for life.

FYI, no one in the First BT shall have horses with a few select exceptions.

@Israelite, I suppose your government type could be considered an "elective" monarchy correct?

Can I have horses? Never mind the fact that I'm in the Americas, never mind the fact that you hate me, you have to admit that horse riding Peruvians overrunning the Old World would be ironic.

Actually you can have llamas. You have to say that armored llamas overrunning the Old World will be quite hilarious :p Of course, these llamas have been genetically changed by ah... das..

OK, then just take out the part about horse riding, maybe replace it with elephants. :D As for my government, that is pretty much what it is but I based it off of the Lybian government which is a Jamahariyah. The real one works exactly how I described, except no monarchial elements (replace the royal families with political parties). For the sake of shortness just call it a Jamahriyan Monarchy.

EDIT: Oh, and the People's Councils have no effect on government policies, they only convene when electing a new monarch. The king is pretty much absolute, although he of course has advisors. Over time I might change this, but to be realistic to the age, the monarchy has pretty absolute power.

@israelite...Im already in Gibraltar, and Im not moving just so you know.

Wow. I am glad that I got out of the Western Med. Yeesh.

OOC: weren't the llama just a beadt of burden though ?

I suppose domestiction over a couple of thousand years could turn them itno decent war animals?

Unlikly that Lama glama could have been converted to a war beast, the skeletal structure is all wrong, not to mention that doing so would probably make them unsuitable to survive in the high mountains.

Lama dasicus on the other hand ;)...

I, personally, believe in the superiority of Vicugna pacos and Lama guanicoe. Vicugna vicugna isn't good enough, because I don't know the alt-code for ñ.

To keep this post from being spam: Other than das, who else is near me?

Personally, I didn't actually WANT a war riding llama. I much prefer to remain backward.
