- And came Tonsang to Huong-li.
- And saw he the great city.
- And saw he the great people.
- And the people were great, yet ignorant.
- And they were ignorant of his teaching.
- And so they rejoiced when he came.
- And so he said:
---
"...we must reach enlightenment, all of us, for then we will transcend into superior beings, beings beyond ordinary human nature! We must understand the whole greatness of the world, the Island and the people on it, the Sea and the fish in it, the Sky and the birds in it, the Time and the suns in it. Time goes by, lands rise and fall, and squabble amongst themselves, I saw them all, and held them in scorn for they disagreed with each other and fought over such petty disagreements, and killed each other, and all suffered and none prospered nor wisened from it, which is why we must keep to the Island, our blessed Island, the Holy Land of Tai-Wan..."
- "Tonsang scribes" as translated by modern archeologists.
---
"...it is believed that the "Tonsang scribes", as they are called, were one of the foundations of the modern teaching of Tonsangism... they are attributed by the more religiously-minded to "Tonsang", "the Teacher" whose existance or nonexistance is yet to be proven... Finally, I am advised that the expedition should now investigate the old burial sites in the center of the island, to check the "mutant panda" hypothesis about the "polar bear bones" found there."
- From the report of the Taiwanese expedition.

Orders:
- Grow education.
- Create the religion of Tonsangism (see story. It is a considerably more militant and more isolationist version of Buddhism).
- Persuade all of our people to convert to Tonsangism. Those who don't like it will... well, we will build one boat, for an exception, and strand all of them on the Pescadore islands (they aren't contagious), and then destroy that boat again. All on the Island must be in agreement with the Teacher!
- Commence attempt to achieve enlightenment.
