Basically, the Greeks (Spartans? Byzantines?), like in OTL, became important mercenary exporters. One particularily large mercenary force was hired by the faraway king of Bactria, to fight rebels. The journey was long and ardous, but the Greek mercenaries were tough enough to endure it. They put down the rebels and decided to settle down there rather then march all the way back. The local king didn't like it, and tried to attack them when they refused to move. Superior training and disciplinne of the Greeks, in addition to the ambitiousness of their commander, allowed them to crush the Bactrian armies and to kill the king. After that, their commander declared himself king of Bactria, and though it didn't sit well with the natives, after the bloody defeat of the first two rebellions they had to live with it.

Spartans! That way I can do a story! Sort of!

Flying Tiger looked at his son, Young Star and remembered why he was here. Generations ago, his ancestors had left the Xinjian Homeland to serve the High Lord Rang Xi. Since they had dressed so weird and talked in a foreign accent, they were allowed to become Rang Xi’s personal servants.

“Because son, we are hereditary annoying Xinjian pages and thus must wear the funny robes and spear Loti with a Xinjian accent as it is expected of us as well as making this sacrifice for our cushy job.”

“But the robe itches and I was taught Loti, Yan, Fuzhou, and Taiwanese in school! Xinjian is really annoying!”

“That’s why we speak it to everyone we see my son, it is part of the master plan we have chosen to be part of.

“We, I didn’t get to choose anything!”

“Well yes, but we have a pretty good life aside from the going to random places and pushing people into trees and etc. Anyways, Xinjian will soon be conquered by Shu in the foreseeable future so we must be as annoying to Rang Xi as much as possible so that when Xinjian is conquered, he will grant us wide lands and mighty titles just so he could get rid of us. Now go practice your animal prayers, they need work.”

Ok. 1800 Alupi+150 Metari from the lands I pccupy move fast using THEIR roads and invade and pllunder Etrusca! WOOPY HEY! Nothing in the way as their army is used to stop me and can't mvoe faster without roads to...

900 Alupi and navy defend the borders with Etrusca! Build forts and stuff to higher defense.

100 Alupi in Gothia take peple out of their homes into Astile for slavery! Sell them on the slave market. Take as many as we want. Than bring Astilians to settle the empty areas. Continue pllunder gothian cities.
