The CFC Confessions Thread

Which concern is more important to you?

If I lived near a Chic Fila I would have gone on August 1st. Not because I have issues with gays but because I have issues with people (Mayor of Boston) who want to punish free speech. And that's not a confession. I'm proud:)

I think you're missing the point of this thread

I hope that there's a Miss Perfect out there that I'll meet, but I doubt. Even if there were, I'd probably drive her away with my.... weirdness.
The perfect lady appreciates a man's oddness. ;)

I'm a recovering romance addict and I have a history of giving too much in relationships while often (but not always, thankfully) attracting needy girls.
Romance in all its forms can be quite wonderful. Romance spreads happiness. :)

I don't want to start that thread over again but if you read the mayor's words, which I did, all he did was personally rebuke Chic Fila while speaking for Bostonians. He didn't deny them business in his town.

"Can" is the key word, oh wise one. I find the more honest you are with yourself and the focus of your affection, the less pain you're risking in the long run and the better the romance. This was a hard lesson for me to realize, as I felt much safer being guarded for most of the past 5 years. But sometimes it's better to go back out into the snow than it is to stay in a bear cave just before they come home to hibernate, hoping things will turn out okay. Ok, not just sometimes ;)

I have horrible posture.

I can fix that for you.

I actually worry that I'm horribly out of touch with my fellow common folk. I see the success of guys like Stephen Harper or Mitt Romney succeed on all things of economics platforms, and I just don't get it. I worry that I'm missing something.

I don't particularly dislike Harper.

-I feel uncomfortable debating politics IRL since most of my friends are left-leaning.

It's not really a debate if it's just two people agreeing with each other.

Not restricted to romance.

That's of course very true, and what I said is a bit of a cliche. A short story, the last girl I was truly crazy about, I held back because she was someone I knew it would be difficult to build a real sound relationship with. She had this tendency to feel trapped, you see, and I didn't want to trap her. If it were today, it would be because I wouldn't want her to feel trapped. At the time I thought that, but really I was just afraid she'd bail. And I had already liked her for far too long.

The truth was when I got truly affectionate she responded well to it--sort of. She was blustering as much as I was. Even still I didn't realize that until later, too interested in playing it cool. We didn't confess the extent of our feelings, not perfectly even but definitely further than we shared, until after we broke up. The damage was done, and there wasn't much getting back together. Honestly if I had just gone for it, yeah it would have crashed and burned. But it crashed and burned anyway. No use wearing a seatbelt when your trying to protect yourself from getting hit with a baseball bat. Or something. It's better to at least be unconstrained and give a good swing yourself before being knocked down. This metaphor is terrible. lmfao. The point is, I could have lived it fully, better, and more honestly.

Who said anything about oddness? If I had simple oddness, that would be great. Unfortunately, I have a bad case of the insanities. :p

Happiness is something that happens to other people. Don't worry too much about it.

Anyway...

I kinda like fights and arguments. In a way. They piss me off, but that can be fun and exciting.

I find sports ridiculously boring.

I don't like soda.

I have never had a nickname.:(

I dont understand why some people think that boycotting Chick-Fil-A is a bad thing

Because they genuinely believe keeping the LGBT community as second class citizens in the United States is best for our society. Read the now-locked Chick-Fil-A thread for examples.

I did and even posted in it, and am still confused

There are deeply-held and genuine (albeit misguided) beliefs among many Americans that homosexuality:
A) Is against god's will
B) Is a voluntary choice
C) Will cause other people to 'convert' to being gay if gay people are allowed to be 'out' in public or participate in society
D) Will destory the fabric of society
E) Is the cause of many other social problems
F) If gay marriage is allowed, then people will soon be allowed to marry dogs and 15 women at once

And lot's of other crazy things. It's essential to understand that religion is deeply intertwined with right-leaning politics in the United States and that the right-leaning political party (the Republicans) espouse that their Christian religious beliefs should be imposed on the entire country. Many conservatives don't see a problem with this and any business or business person that follows this line of thought (such as Chick-Fil-A's founder) is a godsend to the country and anyone who is opposed to that business/individual is doing the devil's work.

Oh okay

Also implying marrying 15 women is wrong :p

I hope that what I typed before didn't come off as condescending. I was just trying to break down the quirks of the American political system for you. It's full of hate :(

I tell you, when I find the 15 women who are right for me, I'm settling down.

I'm not even sure I want one woman, let alone fifteen!

Well, I've narrowed it down to the 20-30 women who want me. I'm just conducting tests to thin the numbers out a bit.

I consider it my civic duty. And it should save people like you a bit of trouble.

What if the 15 women spent their time playing Elder Scrolls games with you and talking about the interesting ways British/English monarchs met their ends?
