I gave him a name in the notebook, but I don't expect it to stick, because I kinda came up with it on the spot..

He's been mailed by the way! Here's the tracking info, whether you care about it or not!

edit: The girl at canada post totally give me a cute "aww" look when she saw I was mailing a plush toy to a girl. I did not want to tell her the real deal because I'm a jerk
*sigh* I never said I didn't care. I just said this is not a good time for me.

9:22 this morning, and Yeti is in Calgary.

Valka, getting a camera is easy:

Best buy

Thank you, Birdjaguar. But I'm not into Disney Princesses... and I can't stand our local Best Buy store - far too noisy.

Actually, I bought a camera this afternoon, at London Drugs. Basically, I did some research online first, then went in and told them what the camera had to do, it had to be basically idiot-proof since I've taken a grand total of ONE picture during the last 20 years (the picture from our first around-the-world project), and it had to last a good long while.

So we shall see how it works out.

The Yeti has arrived safely. He's sitting on a box near my bed, and says hi to everyone. ;)

He's so skinny - Contre, Warpus, didn't you ever feed him? :p

I have already posted that. :p

Oh yeah? In this thread? Looks like I missed it.. whoops

How do you see the pics on the website? Or is that feature not active yet?

Gallery link top right. It doesn't stand out I guess, and I've been meaning to add a better looking link to each photo from the map somehow. Maybe I'll have some time this week to work on it

To update: I haven't yet had a chance to try taking any pictures - sorry for the delay.

But I do have information about the Yeti. I did some research and discovered that his official name is Bumbles, and he's part of the Rudolph set of Christmas plush toys. A different version of our Bumbles has a music box inside him - squeeze him and you get an abridged rendition of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

Thank goodness our Yeti doesn't do that - can you imagine the consternation at any post office if the package were to get dropped and suddenly this song comes blaring out? :crazyeye:

And where are we now?

As I type, the Yeti is sitting on my laptop watching the words appear on the screen. Wave to Birdjaguar, Bumbles!

He just waved - did you see?

I'm still recovering from surgery, folks. I'm not getting around too well yet.

I hope your recovery is smooth Valka!

I have some decent photos of the yeti in transit and/or posing with the CN tower and other Toronto landmarks, but I wasn't going to post them because of the whole 1 photo per person thing. But it would be yeti content. I can dig them up if you guys want, if anyone misses the yeti

Why can't we post more than one picture? It's not like we're using a communal camera with finite room on it this time. I'd love to see what others you've taken. :)

Take yer time.

You can post as much you like on this thread. Site for now I think should be limited to your favourite.

I guess I didn't really want to start any precedents or chain reactions, leading to a degrading of yeti photo value due to a sudden increase in supply. You know how that slippery slope stuff can go, one day you're cracking an egg and the next thing you know you've got an omlette.

Let's see what I can dig up
