Russian won, could won it in 1640 if my conquest for Zoroasterianism and Buddhism completed earlier.

General strategy for Europeans: get knights ASAP, capture workers ASAP, conquer another civ, get a great spy for tech stealing, research banking - patronage - printing press, found Protestantism, get liberalism for chemistry or steam power or rifling, switch to secularism and build the Taj Mahal. Plan your conquest for 7 religions, build university all around, Golden age all the way till victory.

And here is the Greek savefile you requested, I doubt anyone can open it in current SVN though.

1) I can always change SVN versions...
2) What SVN revision is it and where is the save?

My previous savefile. I forgot the SVN number...

You can do it by yourself though. Greeks secularism strategy:

1. Plan 4 cities in core: 1. Korinthos 2. Ephesus 3. Byzantion (you can wait Romans to found it for you) 4. Epidamenos (don't rush. You can found Trabzon on horse first).

2. Rush Egypt as usual, capture Jerusalem before Persian spawn, raise an army.

3. Research: masonry - metal casting (build the Great Sphynx in Egypt, get a GE and bulb it before turn 75), iron working - priesthood (if you couldn't buy it) - math (for catapult) - buy alphabet from Phoenecian - Oracle for currency - aesthetics - calender - construction or literature - all other crucial classical tech, without drama, you don't need it.

4. Build the Parthenon and switch to republic, build cottages all around, do not get theology so it won't obsolete. This way you'll get insanely high commerce and many great people very early.

5. Finish 2/3 UHV and turn west to wipe out Romans. Remember to send an initial warrior to squat Milan (on the way back from hut-popping). I can take all their core 1-3 turns after their conqueror. Leave France and Spain alone, you don't need them, and barb will raze it. Just defend your land.

6. Conquer Lahore too, we need Buddhism and Shwedagon Paya.

7. Convert to Catholicism and organized religion after you built all classical wonders. It will automatically spread so we don't have to research theology. Conquer an city with Confucianism or Taoism, you need it as 7th religion.

8. Stay at 19-20 cities (the last could be Mecca), ready for Arab spawn, refues flip. 0% research until turn 181, I hoarded 5000-8000 gold by that time. Use a part to upgrade horse archers to knights.

9. Go 100% research,I researched printing press in 640, got another 2000 converting gold... then switch to secularism for research and wonder!

10. Plan your golden age, you can usually get 68 turns: (1) 2/3 UHV for 8 turns, but you can use a GE to hurry MoM and get 12 turns. (2) 2 GP (3) 3 GP (4) Versailles (5) Taj Mahal (6) 4 GP - don't have to wait for Eiffel Tower. So you can burn 2 great people around 500 AD - there will be 3-5 turns of anarchy which doesn't reduce GA.

11. Research liberalism, I forgot what I bulbed. Now you can finally get theology and research divine rights and build the Versailles.

12. Beeline refrigeration and get your victory.

The only save I see is the Greek one, and unless you say me the revision, I can't open the file and include you in the OP.

I'll just try again.

Rolled 4 starts, now Babylonians usually build the Great Sphynx, rats! Why do they want this useless wonder?

Oh, this is my Russia savefile. Previous SVN, number...forgot again :( , just the last one before current one.

If I have a later date but higher score with same conditions, I can't post it right?

Current SVN. I could get fridge in 1060, but Egypt respawned and I still have 3 universities to build, so I took 2 turns for economics and switched to capitalism by one turn, used the great merchant to get 700, hurried the last 3 libraries and universities.

My liberalism bulbed constitution and used a GE to hurry the Taj Mahal in Mecca. That was not my best move, actually you don't need the Taj Mahal. The question is when to open GA? I opened in turn 171 and had many turns remaining in the end. When to get liberalism? I decided to get it early for secularism and theology and divine rights for Versailles. It can still be improved. So here is my savefile in turn 157, everything was settled by that time, feel free to try.

By the way, I costed 1000 to upgrade an army to grenadier to capture a Tamil city with Confucianism, but Chinese sent another missionary to Patliputra later, so I returned that city. If I didn't start that war, I could win 1 turn faster.

In this Greeks game, I popped iron working from a hut, that's big luck. I was able to get swordsmen and take Babylon early by then, and I partially bulbed metal casting by a GE - no more Great Sphynx building because now Babylonians builds it every game.

As I captured Persepolis on turn 114 or so, Babylonians respawned in Nineve, with a large army, and reduced my tech cost by 20% or so. I didn't have time to deal with them until 40 turns later. Actually, I could just declare war, they'll send army out toward Babylon, and 4-5 swordsmen can do the job.

Wiped out Romans even before conqueror event, they also founded Constantinople for me.

I am kind of lonely here, I think the only way to do better is send a great merchant to Istanbul early to get 1800, that would save me one more turn.

Promoted warrior in the modern era in 1580AD...

^Wow, is it just me, or is the stability really harsh in that game?
Everyone is either flatlining or Unstable/Collapsing.

Yes, really harsh. If it were not golden age, I would face some critical crisis soon, for I razed several cities. I had around -22 for razing and -30 for overextension. French collapsed when Spanish captured Paris, Holy Romans collapsed on their own, Vikings respawned, Spanish and Portuguese haven't got astronomy yet.

My strategy: 4 longbowmen to capture Marrakus as usual (versus 1 crossbowmen and 1 archer, lost 1), I cost another one and captured Wahran as well. Southampton and Newcastle built barracks, stable and then 4 horse archers, upgrade to knights, board to France and conquered Cordoba with support from Marrakus. Then I turned to east as usual. Cairo revolted to me when I captured Alexandria.

Research: civil service - aesthetic - drama. French traded engineering in 1320, stole guilds and gunpowder from Spanish (thanks to a great spy.) Then banking, music(bulb by great artist), patronage, paper, bought compass and optics from Italian, astronomy, education, philosophy, military science, liberalism for chemistry, economics, printing press in 1455(one turn before Germans), replaceable parts, steam power, scientific method, biology, physics, electricity, and finally fridge.

By settling the sugar island early, plus wine, you'll have 13 happiness in capital, enough for English.
