The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

It's a pity that there's hardly anyone online anymore... expect to get your arse handed to you for quite a while in MP - I still do, and I've got a lot of FPS experience and have been playing for a couple of months now.

On the plus side, RO2 is out next year sometime I hear... :D

Quarter 1 2011, Jan or Feb. from what I hear. :D

So I managed to play Blood (old classic first person shooter from 1997) on my PC with it crashing only once every 1 hour or so. I got it from gog.com. It's currently on special.

Man this game is awesome. It's ugly looking sure (1997 shooter oblige), but it's so fast paced and bloody and satisfying to shoot this stuff up. And the whole demoniac theme is great. As far as I'm concerned this is better than Duke Nukem 3d.

Also, I notice that maybe we're regressing on the politically correct stuff? This game is more violent and cringe-inducing-for-christians than anything out these days I think?

I got Minecraft.. hmm, remind me what I am meant to do with this game now that I have?

Anything you want to.

Personally I have recently been trying to make dwarf fortresses underground.

Tunneling through mountains is also fun, creating road systems and such also fun. Trading posts along the wayside is cool, creating villages is cool, making a hermit hut on the top of a cliff is cool... Making a base underwater is cool. Create a sand castle... challenging but fun. Obtain some TNT, have fun destroying the world.

I was bored and was browsing the steam store and stumbled upon a Super Meat Boy trailer and of course had to get it after watching that. At start it seemed like I was going to make the world record in dying in a video game, but after you get completely zen with the controls the frustration turns into blitzing the levels at high speed. Really rewarding after you clear a really tough level with par time.

If you like challenging platformers, give it a try.

I hate challenging platformers, I think I'll be skipping Super Meat Boy. Got enough games anyways :p (Today is the first of the Steam sale I didn't buy a game, well okay I got the last DLC for Borderlands...).

I've picked up Gran Turismo 5, Call of Duty Black Ops, and the Dawn of War 2 series. The latter coming STEAM. I also got Left for Dead 2 from STEAM but haven't had the chance to play yet.

So many games, so little time to enjoy them.

I've gotten Mass Effect (gift from Kan) & Empire Total War (gift from PrinceScamp).

I got TF classic... gift from a friend on my TF2 server.

Also bought BFBC2 on pc during the sale... already have it on ps3, but i'm gonna trade that in, cause it's not a good game on console (when i got it originally, my pc wouldn't have run it)

Neverwinter Nights 2 and both expansion packs for $10 on Steam today.

I really disliked vanilla NWN2 -- I thought it was just unfinished and sloppy -- but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I've heard Mask of the Betrayer is excellent so I bought it on Steam an hour ago.

Just recently got Donkey Kong Country Returns. And it's one of those games actually living up to their predecessors names. :D

Planning to get a PS3 today as well. Hopefully, I can claim both Little Big Planet and Red Dead Redemption while I'm at it. Oh and New Vegas ofc.

I got Batman: Arkham Asylym GOTY as a steam gift. Even tho I like comics, I've never been a fan of comic/superhero based games, since they're usually pretty bad. This one however was a pleasant suprise. I completely lost track of time while playing it, so I guess it's immersive enough.

Anyone who played and enjoyed Red Dead Redemption must get the Undead Nightmare DLC. It's only $10 USD, and I'm five hours into it and only at 25% completion. By comparison, I finished the Halo: Reach campaign in four hours. The Undead Nightmare DLC is probably one of the best value-for-your-dollar DLC packs that I've ever seen.

Plus, zombie apocalypse + Old West = massive amounts of awesome.

Joyous. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. So far, not regretting it.

Especially considering KH is running the risk of becoming a dead horse franchise.

Hint: Since Nomura is calling the current arc the "Xehanort Saga", he's indicating there might be even MORE after the next one or two games wrap it up.
