The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

It's pretty fun. It was pretty obviously ripped off of minecraft, however they changed so much it doesn't feel like minecraft at all. Because of it being in 2-D you really can't build, so it's not so much of a sandbox and more of a dungeon fighter. There's a nice variety of monsters that are scattered through a handful of environments. Some of the stuff (like getting a really good set of armor) is actually pretty challenging. On the wiki I've seen items that would take over an hour to get the material to make. Overall it's quite fun and I can't expect me to get less that 15 hours out of it. Also, it's one of those games that seems it would be a lot funner in multiplayer.

What features did mtw have that M2TW didn't have? M2TW has improved graphics and AI so it's hard to believe you would rank its predecessor higher.

The strategic map is much better. It has ways to win other than conquering the entire world. Although the graphics may be worse, I actually find the battles much more fun to play. You just have to play and find out, but trust me, MTW is much better.

Has anyone bothered with the new Dragon Warrior game? I heard it was really good.

Do you mean VI or the actual new game, IX? I really enjoyed IX, but my tastes are odd. I thought VII was the best in the series.

Just bought Innovation, a card game. :D

I really want the Lord of the Rings Living Card Game too, but that'll have to wait. Ah well.

Funnily enough, these days I find board games more interesting than video games, even games I loved, like Terraria (Minecraft-sorta). And L.A. Noire didn't come out for the PC yet. Booooo.

I find board games and pen and paper games always superior to video games. The problem is finding people who want to play them as much as me hehe. It'd be game night every night if I could... Or almost.

You know, I'm curios how much money we've spent with all the games in this thread.

I got a $100 gift card for a gaming store, and I got Portal 2 for PC, Assassin's Creed 2 for Xbox 360, and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for 360 as well. All set for summer! :D

As far as card games go you can't go wrong with Dominion.

I'm not so good at that.

I never really figure out the whole "trying to earn points" thing, so instead just whore all the witches to drag everyone else down with me.

Generally I can get two per hand, which is fairly cool. :p

Pull a Throne Room and a witch and you're set. Must be played with an evil laugh.

I bought Motorstorm: Apocalypse.

A friend gave me his free copy of Frozen Synapse.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings arrived in the mail yesterday. Bloody awesome with numerous improvements (or at least steps in the right direction) over the first game and the asthetics, level of detail and graphics in general are extremely good and some of the best in any game I've played yet. Could use a proper tutorial though.
