Well it seems I'm still not allowed. Geez, what I have done to piss off a mod...

From one idiot to many others, let me retrace my steps. I entered my details in the Citizen registry thread and waited for a while. I then found that all of you had membership to the Civ4 Demo Game group itself so asked for membership through the group pages - linking back to my citizen request. There must be something I missed here. Maybe I should read the Demo Game FAQ (for Idiots).

Dont worry (yet). Your not the only one who's had to wait 3 days to vote in the polls. :(

Glad to know that someone else has to wait too. Hopefully... Soon.. One Day.. This Idiot will be able to take part in the festivities. Something I saw today that I thought was extremely funny - you've probably all seen it before. Maybe she should join our group...

Vander! What up there kid? Welcome to our madness. Let us know if you need anything.

Sadan...everyone knows the big "kettle" star thingy in the sky is biggest. Duh.
BTW we can PM Rik Meleet in a day or two if everyone's not set up for voting rights.

Ok... those already approved to vote here is the two polls

Startup research strategy - I voted to go Agriculture
Capital location - I voted where it is

I'm not sure which is best. There could be a valid arguement made for any research path. Moving one tile to the right will allow 1 more river tile in the 21-tile radius, but it'll eat up a FP. 2-tiles to the right doesn't make sense to me because I follow the philosophy that inorder to waste a turn on turn #1 you better know why you need to move and know what you are getting by moving.

EDIT:: also there is a vote to amend the constitution to allow impeachment of governors instead of having to be stuck with some yahoo.
CoL Amendment: Section 7C, Impeachment of Governors

Good logic Tubs. I'm in for all three.

Sorry I missed you Vander. Welcome aboard the good ship Idiote!! I've updated the membership post.

Welcome Vander, from another new member of the idiots (although I am not new to idiocy ;) ). [party]

Good to see you drink a lot  That, as I understand it, is a prerequisite to join this group. I've already had a few  and now onto the scotch :D Just waiting for the chance to vote - so I'll drink myself into oblivion in the meantime. Hopefully tomorrow :)

So true Daghieboy.

I would like to add a story Tubby tells. It's about "The jar of life" (with a Whompalicious twist)
Spoiler :

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2" in diameter.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into he jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was. The students laughed. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognise that this is your life.

The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, and your children - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing.

There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the car. Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

But then... A student then took the jar which the other students and the professor agreed was full, and proceeded to pour in a glass of beer. Of course the beer filled the remaining spaces within the jar making the jar truly full.

The moral of this tale is - no matter how full your life is, there is always room for BEER!

Just stopped in to say hello and join the partee, but it looks like everybody left already. Where are you guys hiding out these days? :p

The idiot partee is just a place to hang out and get Tubby a governorship, Kebaba the national sport, start a pub/bowling alley and whatever else people want to pursue in the game.

There will be much ado about nothing but not letting people underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups, taking no prisoners and such.

IamSid wanted to run a city. Maybe we could get a whole idiotic province.

That I do. If you could help me with that don't worry I will appeal to the rather strange views of the idiotioc population.. Such as*free beer* !!!:D :D

That is so true Daghdha. Seeing it is the Australian Summer at the moment, and the festive season, some of us Aussies tend to drink more than they would in say, winter. Hot weather is so much better for drinking  and it is party-time for us.

And Whomp, I've never heard that version of the Jar of Life . Nice twist. I've tested the voting again and I still cannot. I'll give it a little more time but I might PM Rik tonight - 12hrs away at least (or should that PM come from you or Tubby?).

Onto something this idiot thinks is funny, this is something you should NOT do in pubs/clubs. Why not just go to the bar?

The PM can come from anyone. Prolly Chieftess or Rik would be the best. I'll PM themm in a minute

Brilliant Tubby. I now have access to vote. Thanks muchly :)

Towing the party line, we are voting for settle in place, agriculture and yes to the amendment. I'll get my votes in.
