edit: never mind.
Lazily, and with apparently limited awareness of their surroundings?
I'm obliged to loathe people who self-identify as "Celtic fans" because of these dicks. Nice knowing you.So I think if I ever decide to get into UK soccer, I'll go arbitrarily go for Celtic. I already enjoy hating on Protestants and Conservatives.
Celtic FC is pronounced with a hard "c" isn't it? So I should be safe talking about it aloud. And it's not like I'd find you in many soccer threads anyway. But given that I've only been into real football for a few years, I'll probably pick up other sports pretty slowly, and soccer isn't a high priority. I'll probably only catch it if it's TVs in a Mexican restaurant or if friends have a spare Crew ticket.I'm obliged to loathe people who self-identify as "Celtic fans" because of these dicks. His name is Lucky! They have a cartoon leprechaun as their logo? Really? I mean, Celtic F.C.'s big shamrock was bad at enough, but at least they but a little effort into the design...![]()
False. It's Keltic.
While I don't know anything about soccer because, let's be honest, who cares about soccer unless USA #1, the boston professional basketball team has always been pronounced with a soft c for no apparent reason. That's just how they do.
That was just how they used to pronounce "Celtic". (I'm not sure why, given that the Latin "Celtae" and the Greek "Keltoi" have a hard c, but, well, there you go.) The old-fashioned pronunciation just stuck to the teams even when they started pronouncing it differently in everything else. While I don't know anything about soccer because, let's be honest, who cares about soccer unless USA #1, the boston professional basketball team has always been pronounced with a soft c for no apparent reason.

I think my pick of Arsenal was quite a good pick then, given my love for the Mother Country. Arsenal being right in London, and all.
Heh, fair enough, I just meant that it wasn't a silliness particular to sports fans.Exactly. No apparent reason.
The thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in
