The NESer Neptune's Pride Thread!

You think everything about me is the worst in me EC :p

I... I do?

Brings out the worst in Louis, too. He's a nice guy but he can be a bit of a **** on it.

No matter how "nice" of a game you try to play, it is just about inevitable that you will have to stab someone in the back and twist the knife evilly at some point if you want to win. I've played about a dozen games now, and the only game that I was able to play "completely cleanly" and win was the game where I met Louis, after which he invited me to this one. He wasn't my ally there either, though... come to think of it, the whole game progressed rather similarly to this one, but on a way smaller scale/fewer people involved.

I think it is psychologically easier to play a logically-good game, the more sociopathic you are. I get way too anguish-ed inside over who I piss off or who I might piss off. :/

Strategic retreat, covering the civilians, protecting them. (I'm pictureing a BSG type event, but with many RTFs)

Strategic retreat to where? Your conquered homeworld? Buwahahahaha!!!

Tentacular Ascendance awaits you all!

We will roam the stars for all eternity, striking your ships whenever we can, ekking out an existance in the dark depths of space...

Mmmm bacon.

In the words of a wise man, I present to Terrance the terms of our upcoming duel: Come at me bro.

"Since you asked me to duel with you, duel I shall. Do you have your Ascentionizer ready? I am going with this shot of Vodka."

*Shakes fist at the treacherous Boundless.*

Really, what is this. I safeguard her and help her defeat the Aikenan Empire, and she swiftly backstabs me. She really can't be trusted. As I stated in the game, this has for me changed from a question about Boundless' survival to a question of my own security. I can't guarantee that she'll survive this. Aiken and Boundless, I have been supporting the two of you playing with us, but I feel there's more to your cooperation than simple enjoyability for the rest of us. Boundless really has no chance of placing with this recent operation, she suicidally threw herself at me after I've spent about a thousand ships saving her. I think she merely reasoned that she wanted to help Aiken because he's so cuddly. I don't think that makes for good gameplay, but I won't piss or moan about it anymore. I'll do my best making sure I survive this conflict.

I don't know when I will get treachurous, but I somehow got myself protecting Thlayli and Benefactor. And it is all because Iggy offered me a duel. Darn you!

I like to think I'm friends with Thlayli too, this is confusing :o

And yep, suicidally charging at the one player who can help you liberate your territory does not seem very wise. Nor does sacrificing yourself to aid the player(s) who destroyed you in the first place. I understand the same thing happened in Starwhomper's game, with Argentis in place of Joakim that time.

I like to think of it as a partnership, you handling the attacking, me handling the getting invaded.
... its not exactly an equal partnership, granted :p .

EDIT: Thlayli is attacking Iggy/being attacked as well?
