I thought that it wasn't possible to get conquerors before 1300. Is it only for the human?

It's entirely possible Spain inherited some Moorish cities or captured Rome with TGL and beelined Optics here.

It's not the tech beelining mrrandomplayer was referring to. He was referring to the conqueror event which wouldn't trigger before 1300 AD. (Or that must have been changed by Leoreth)

I remember rewriting the conqueror mechanic, don't know if that rule survived the process.

I'm aware. I'm of the belief however that the limitation only exists for the player.
So it didn't surprise me much, I was commenting on the possible causes for such an early event.
But now that TheNoob clarified the setting was Epic speed, the culprit has come to light.

Well, i see England got the conquers event. France, Far East or Muslim nations usually do it first

Is that Byzantium I see with Italy but not Constantinople? Well. (Seems that they never got below the threshold for shrinking their core.)

I don't even consider that WTH anymore. Lately Byzantium always survives (and sometimes thrives) after the fall of Constantinople. It's very strange but I like this Byzantine Italy, it helps them out a lot. France, Spain and even HRE become too strong when they control Italy.

Yep, I've been getting more and more accustomed to seeing 'Empire of Nicaea' in my games.

Yeah, in a Thailand game that I was playing, they survived through the 1750s.

Again, the Empire of Nicaea survived till the end in my game of Prussians
