The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I didn't get a screenshot, but I lost my entire stack of starting units as the Turks attempting to take Constantinople from Byzantium. The trebuchets and bombards had trouble turning down the defense of the city from 200%, and I don't think I can take the city with only bombards and trebuchets. This was on Heir.

Plus, the Poles had taken Konya, which was funny.

or their position in history is compensated instead by Super Arabia.
A surviving Arabia happens too often in my game, triumphing from Russia to Nubia, and from Libya to Persia without defeat and teching all the way into the future.

IMO the Seljuks should be buffed against Arabia, or AI Arabia should be more prone to collapse. Because unless the Arabs collapse, the Ottomans hardly ever expand beyond Anatolia in the Middle East, even if they held the Constantinople and the Balkans.

Arabia almost always collapses as intended in my games.

Carthaginians founding Taoism in Hippo 1 turn before I conquer them, thus putting a serious dent in my plans for a religious orthodox victory...

Can't raze holy cities. Carthage beat me to Taoism once when I was playing as China.

Carthage founds Taoism sometimes in my games as well (though China usually gets it first in my experience). Not really sure what the cause is.

Maybe they prioritize on Calendar too much. They should tech Metal Casting, Currency more often than Calendar. Leoreth, do something!:mischief:

Dat greece tho..

Holy good macaroni, that is such a greece... O_O

How the hell do you have good stability with that massive empire?!

1. He's in the Modern Era. Core city population is multiplied by 6 for the purposes of calculating stability.

2. Greece has a large area that's Historical, stretching all the way to Pakistan.

3. Cities in Historical territory with either a Courthouse or Jail only have half their population count against stability.

4. Building both a Courthouse and Jail effectively negates the penalty for a city being in Foreign territory.

Isn't overextension stability penalty capped? In that case good stability in other categories can make up for it. I had some 60+ stability in my Arabia game.

It isn't hard, Greece has a lot of food resources in its core area. Than bigger the cities in your core, than higher expansion stability.
And do not raze big cities. Than bigger razed city, than stronger stability hit for razing. Block the city with units from all sides, that city has become 1 pop and raze it only then. It be "-2" for razing at most, if I'm not mistaken. Besides it's temporary.

So I was playing DoC 1.11 and was messing around with the WB. This happened. Every mess-up elsewhere else is purely intentional.

 Glorious mongol attack... with only cannons. Specially when I have a doomstack on Konya.
